Paxton car bov flutter

Hey everyone, so I have an 18 GT with a Paxton on it and everything has been flawless for the entire time I’ve had the kid until recently my BOV has been fluttering anytime I go over about 4.5k RPM. I have the max flow race BOV and a 3.6 pulley so I know it can’t be too much boost. Is it possible the BOV maybe just went bad? I’ve had the kit for about 20k miles, haven’t had a chance to pull off the bumper or just pull back the wheel fender lining to physically check the BOV but I just find it weird that it randomly starts to go bad. Any insight would be appreciated

Thanks. Right now it’s my daily because my other daily is in the shop ( never get a Range Rover). You think any damage can be done as long as I baby it. I drove it today to work and literally didn’t pass 4K after I heard that.

Flutter can mean you have to lubricate the plunger inside the BOV because it’s getting stuck and causing compressor surge.

Is there a way to test this? Or any specific thing necessary to lube it? I’m going to be pulling the bumper off sometime this week and checking the lines then taking a look at the BOV itself

You’ll need to pull it out and see if the plunger moves up and down freely on the spring. Remington gun oil works well.

pressure test on boost and on vacuum, see where it opens and closes, then you have your answer

Looks like the bov just went bad after doing some tests. Gonna be ordering a new one, question is should the Tial bov be a direct fit? I previously had the max flow race vortech bov. Not too familiar with these as I’ve been a PD blower guy

It should be doable. You’ll just need to check the flange size to make sure it’s compatible with your intercooler piping or get the right sized couplers.
