I have been having back problems and sciatica pains for the past month. This is the first time in 3 weeks I could sit in the mustang and what do I see at the shopping center??
I understand parking to the back of the lot but this is just giving us car guys a bad name!!!

Nothing wrong there. Nobody is being put out. If he parked straight some driving school vehicle would learn to park next to it. Trust me on this!

I always pick a spot toward the back of a parking lot and haven't had that many instances of people being douches and parking next to me. I've occasionally had another Mustang or Corvette park next to me, but they're usually out there for the same reason. It works out that people are too lazy to park in spaces that require a longer walk.

There is an unspoken rule at my office that cars in the back of the parking lot always leave one spot between them. Many years later, and that rule hasn't been broken.

No, instead he'll get some douche that parks next to him and intentionally dings the shit out of his car.

And I'm sorry, taking up more than one spot is a douche move.

All my cars are magnets. No matter where I park people end up next to me.

If I have to park around other cars I always try to park by mini vans or sedans in hopes of minimizing door dings.

Never next to 2 door coupes. They tend to have longer, heavier doors.

I drove around him. He was taking up 4 spots
Just overkill in my opinion

Better to be a douch with perfect panels than Mr. Nice with dings from every kid who doesn’t know better. One ding = 600 bucks to repair.

Those that douche in the parking lot often end up with far worse than dings. I've seen it time and again. Ding's are cheaper than keyed doors and caved in panels.

The key is to park far enough out that people don't think your're a douche. Don't park next to coupes, and don't pull through.

I remember one specific time probably 30 yeas ago. We had just got our 1987 Mercury Cougar XR7. I had parked way out by myself at the mall. When I came out, there was a lifted truck with probably 38's on it parked so close to my driver's side, I had to get in the passenger side. I was livid. I'd remembered something someone showed me one time. If you remove a valve stem cap and screw it back on with a small pebble inside, you can get the valve to open up and let the air out. While I felt like slashing all four tires, I just put a pebble in each cap and screwed them back on. When I drove away, all four tires were leaking away. I'd still like to have seen the look on their face when they came out to four flat tires.

Anyone that double parks, doesn't matter how far away is a douchebag. Also, while still a d-bag move, when a ferrari or lambo does it it's one thing, but no one with a mustang (and I say this as someone who owns one) should be thinking their car is that special, calm down.
So because it's only a mustang, I shouldn't care if it gets dinged in a parking lot by some brainless twit?

I dont care if it's a Huffy bicycle, exactly how does someone taking two spaces at the back of an empty lot harm your life in anyway, and what gives you the right to take any action against them?

The world would be a much better place if people like you would mind your own pathetic business.

Well back in the day Mustangs WERE faster than Ferrari’s! The worst parking lot damage that happened to me was when my car was correctly parked and I even know why it happened and it never had anything to do with the way I parked my car:

Episode 1: On a date with a really hot chick and parked it in the parking lot with the boyos looking on. Come back later and there is the deepest scratch right in the top of the driver’s side fender where I would always see it!

Episode 2: Back in the day I had one of the fastest cars on the street and just beating people got boring. So I would toy with them. Try to race them in the right lane that had cars up the road or a road than ends. All you had to do was just match speed and as they ran out of road I would turn to them and grin before they would hit the brakes hard an kiss my ass (or my car’s ass as they pulled in behind me). Anyway, I blew the doors off this one guy and then went into Home Depot. Come out and the dude took one of those metal wheeled platforms for moving sheet rock and smashed it into the side of my car.

Those were the worst and I never tried to fix them. I was proud of them, and loved to look at them knowing I was faster and more cunning and more of a ladies man. The other dings really pissed me off as there was no story behind them - they were not “dueling scars” so to speak. That’s my experience. Also as I have said before; don’t race cars that have agressive body damage on them (long scrapes on the side, etc.). As that dude is fearless!

This. Minivans or something lifted high enough, the doors are over your car.

Back in the late 90's, while stationed in SoCal, I had an '86 CJ-7 that was perfect for parking! SUV's were getting bigger, but parking spots were small, so my wife and I would go out, and you'd see all these "open" parking spots wedged between two SUV's where no one could realistically park and still open their doors.

Pull up, get out of the Jeep, take the doors off and slip them into the back seat, pull into the spot and not worry. The rocker panel was high enough to catch any angry doors without letting them hit the actual body/paint. Almost everywhere we went, we'd have close parking.

Now I'm like most of you, I park far away, and in the end spot by the curb if possible.

I agree that it doesn't matter what kind of car it is. I take pride in anything I own. However, I never double park as it seems to garner negative attention even if you are way in the back of a lot (as you can tell by the person you were responding to).

I just park as far as possible and as close as possible to a curb in a corner spot.

I just park at the far end to get a nice walk and avoid everyone waiting to pounce on the spots up front. I didn't realize there was so much controversy. :)
