There's a first time for everything!

Do you know how they managed it? Adjustment or beating?
Beating of the QA person on the end of the production line.:frusty:

What do you do though? If you've bought the car as a daily driver (that'd be me) then it's going to end up parked at the local mall. And in the city, and in the street, etc.

Yeah, if you're buying a Mustang because of how it looks then why don't you care enough to get better looking brackets?

If you're buying a Mustang because of how it drives and don't care how it looks then why didn't you buy a Focus RS? :p

But honestly there's probably a lot of dealers that don't offer an alternative and a bunch of buyers that don't know any better :)

I always search for somewhere you can get a reasonable space between the side of your car and their door. If not, I would probably find somewhere else to park, such as outside (I'd rather the car get a bit of sun than have a 4WD door or trolley rammed into it). I generally go to shopping centres where I know I can park well away from those who don't give a shit about other people's property, or go at quiet times. You can manage the risk to some extent.

My old Celica has not one obvious trolley dent or door bump on it because I have applied this philosophy. Was painted out 12-14 years ago now. I forget. I did put a slight dent at the top of the guard with my hand while testing the suspension last year. Idiot :frusty:.

That said, there's always the lemming that has to park next to you when there's heaps of space elsewhere. Usually a RAV4 or CX-5 or that kind of thing with a stick figure family on the back window.

I find myself catching a lot more trains than I used to.

On the (very) rare occasion where I have been forced to park on the street/in a car park, I have rushed around like a madman after leaving it in order to get back as soon as humanly possible.

This Corvette driver attempted to minimise the risk with somewhat amusing consequences.

Doesn't work. I park carefully. In the first week I had a paint chip surrounded by some other car's rubbed off paint! It's on the rear haunch as well - probably someone shoving their kid in the back...

And I don't muck around with parking!

That is me! I've got to show my wife this. She thinks I am insane. Latin people have a different concept of what a car is supposed to look like. Something emerging from a fire fight between Narcos and Federales would be the norm ...
