Two years on, Centurion are you still happy with your choice of colour or do you wish you had chosen a different one?

I only ask because I'm about to order a Mustang GT and have suddenly switched from race red to oxford white for no obvious reason!
That's because you don't want a common slow race red one:lol::lol:

Yep, totally happy.

As I probably mentioned back in the depths of this thread somewhere, I originally wanted DIB but that was before anyone had seen one in the flesh over here and what I was hoping was DIB actually turned out to be Spirit Blue (the much more purpley colour used on the ST). Then I remembered the Martini stripes look awesome on anything so changed to OW.

Had Grabber been available I probably would've gone for that but OW, being white, means you can add any colour bits and bobs to it you want, whereas most of the other colours won't take anything other than black stripes etc.

Also, because it's "just" white, you're not relying on the colour itself to "wow".

White ones are still pretty rare too, which is a good thing given the overall numbers on the road are increasing.

In short, I'm glad I don't have to make the choice now, especially now I've seen Platinum White up close. :D

Furred up my dash today...

Need to get some more material to do the large centre piece.

Also had my rear window tinted yesterday at Tintex in Portsmouth. Can't recommend those guys enough!

One thing to bear in mind when choosing your grade of tint; I went for Limo Black (the darkest) to match the rear quarters that were done months ago. However, I didn't reckon on the added tint of the rearview mirror making it even darker thus making it very difficult to now spot unmarked police cars... :(

Are the bonnet pins functional or fake?

Reason for asking is that I have on several occasions read stories of them having been an MOT failure issue (although it does seem to be down to how pedantic the individual tester is), and aside of this, they may have an effect on the active hood deployment (potential insurance issue).

Also, a local Mustang owner here was advised he had to have the 'Aerocatch' (flush) types on his 2011 S197 GT500 when he imported it and that the standard pin/clip types would fail the IVA!

Loving the furry dash... very different!

Whisper it but...they're not functional.

Bonnet pins all seem to be around 4" long, and as I wanted these very specific ones (black studs, hairpin clips) these wee the only ones I could find.

There are holes in the engine bay that seem to be specifically for bonnet pins, but would require 6" posts. So I made the decision to locate them were they are thinking the gap was a lot smaller. Which it is. Just not small enough. :frusty:

So, they are genuine pins but they won't actually stop the bonnet flying up. Plus I have a friendly MOT place anyway so either way it's not an issue.

You've made a very good job of that. Brave; I think that's what that is.
