Yes, yes, I have a lake near my house that I need to irrigate to create my moat. I want a moat, not a lake ;)
I think you should consider a Ha Ha instead of a moat. The poor will still fall into it but they won't spoil the view

Fitted the RPI splashguards yesterday.

Look like they'll certainly help keep SOME of the crap off the paintwork. I was a bit concerned about how they'd look against the white paintwork but as I have huge Carlos Fandango* wheels you can barely notice them.

N/S/F went on fine using the OEM arch liner fasteners. O/S/F did not so had to nip to Halfords to buy some others. Issue was the OEM ones weren't quite long to cope with the additional thickness as the flap needs to be forced back a little bit to sit against the liner. I also cut out a small gap near the top of the flap in order to use the clips to secure it against the wing that Gibbo205 ditched in favour of tape.

The rears utilised only one of 3 OEM fixings with a "fixing kit" being supplied which comprises of some longass screws and what look like some off-cuts of small plastic tubing in order to bridge the gap between the flap itself and the arch liner as it sits a good inch or two behind the arch itself. Not impressed with the solution but they're on there securely so...

FEAST YOUR EYES ON MY FLAPS!

Now you have had more time with the new wheels do you think the larger size has slowed the cars acceleration at all and how you finding ride quality?

Nope, still feels insanely fast but as I mentioned earlier, they're 1/2lbs lighter than standard so I wouldn't expect to notice any difference and although I was hoping for them to be even lighter, considering they're that much bigger I guess any weight reduction is to be applauded.

As for ride quality I couldn't say since the wheels went on the same time as the springs, but since I bought a tyre pressure gauge yesterday and have now got them all set at 33psi cold, the handling is great. The ride quality compared to standard though is just as comfy but a lot more sporty. How much is down to the wheels or the springs though I couldn't say.

I originally had them at around 34psi cold which obviously meant 37/38 when warm and at *ahem slightly higher speeds the car felt a bit floaty at the front, like it was about to swap ends any second. Lowering the pressures a smidge has eliminated that.

So....having fitted the UPR catch can some 580 miles ago (or thereabouts), as I was doing an oil change today I thought I'd check the can:

As you can see, there's a fair bit of crap (thimbleful or so) I'd rather not have going back into my engine the wrong way thankyouverymuch.

UPR can thoroughly recommended.

As for the oil change....I shall be cutting open the filter a bit later to show us all what was caught in the first 2500 miles of driving. :)

Luckily the filter was hand tight otherwise I would've struggled getting any kind of tool in that little space to remove it, but it was certainly an easy enough job overall. Especially when you consider I bought the oil and filter for ÂŁ75 & Gowrings wanted ÂŁ250 to do the job!

255/35 up front and and 285/35 in the rear, so not much over standard widths.

I think I'll be going up to 265 in the front next time though purely for aesthetics.
I am gonna go with 275/35 front and 295/35 rear I think on 10" front wheel and 11" rear wheel. :)

Doesn't that mean a whole load of suspension readjustment? :p
