No. In my opinion that belongs with the vehicle. It will help add value to future owners. If he doesn’t want to sell it I would try playing hardball and tell them you don’t wanna take the car.

It is my understand after discussions with FP that only the original owner is entitled to the GT350/R Owners Kit and accurate duplicates will not be reissued.

Is this a private transaction or through a Ford dealership?

If you are working directly with the original owner I would hope that he/she would pass along all pertinent provenance onto an enthusiast such as yourself.

You might offer him/her some compensation for the original owners kit and hopefully that might help somewhat?

Sorry to hear about a situation such as yours and hope that it all works out in the end for you!

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
That guy needs to get his priorities straight. That package belongs with the car, has minimal monetary value and since the car is so new he certainly can’t have any sentimental attachment.

This has actually come up on here before, where original owners feel they deserve to keep it for paying the new car premium price. Unless you are getting this car for a screaming good deal, that’s crap. I’m guessing with current GT350 prices where they are right now, the seller is getting a very strong price. The big question is how long you plan on keeping the car and what you plan to do with it. The longer you keep it the more likely the next buyer will be concerned about the owner’s supplement and have it impact the value. This is especially true on a clean low mileage stock car.

This is somewhat apples to oranges, but this has become a big deal with the 2000 Cobra R. Many potential owner’s, myself included, would not even look at one if it was missing the original black binder. That one piece of documentation alone made a big difference on the value of that car. I’m sure as times goes on and the GT350 moves more into collector status that shoppers will be asking for that. Just like with the black binder, once the owners supplement is gone, its likely gone forever and not reproducible threw ford.

I fully believe it’s important to preserve the history and documentation of these cars and I have always gone out of my way to do so with all my previous purchases. Hell, I even take pictures of myself and the previous owner standing next to the car and one owner wrote out and signed the story of how he got the car.

As previous stated, I would push hard to get it. If this guy expects top dollar, the new owner should expect ALL aspects of the car to be included in the sale. There is a reason the owner's supplement has all the vehicle information on it and not the first owners.

The Owners' Supplement has no value to person selling the car. Maybe they don't know that, but in any case I'd offer to buy it as it should definitely stay with the car.

Ok as I've posted before there needs to be a sticky post where those that don't have the owners supplement can post a picture of there dash plaque and see if someone has it and is willing to part with it free or for a reasonable price. I had bought a 16 and then 17 new GT350. And when traded the 16 at dealership for the 17 like a damn fool put all the supplement stuff in the trunk. Now do you actually think that all that got to the next buyer of that car? Hell no, most likely in one of the employees that worked theres home or if car went to action then gone there. Now the 17 I wised up. I've still got it all here at home. Would I be willing to part with it all? Yup if I knew by proof who had/has that car and paid shipping I'd be happy to see it all go to the proud owner of that car.

Funny you should mention that about the 2000R, I would think you’re recalling my ordeal about a year ago getting my binder.

Well the deal is i'm getting it from a ford dealer . I cannot talk to the guy directly because of the privacy policy they have and i get that.
I`ve asked the salesman to have him call me but apparently he does not want to get in contact and wants to keep it.
I`ve told the salesman to give him my number in case he changes his mind but to be honest i'm not sure i believe the sales guy.

As everyone here has acknowledged, it would be the best thing to get the owner's supplement that came with the car because of the certificate with the VIN and the FP crank holder with the chassis #.

If you cannot, then buy one from eBay. It won't be matching, but at least you will have one. If you do that, I actually favor the 2016/2017 over the 2018/2019/2020.

Ford made a change for the 2018 model year. They introduced a hardcover book about the car, which is nice. However, it is what they left out that is most noticeable. They stopped giving you the cool Tom Fritz print. You can't get that print anywhere else. That print looks really good matted and framed. It makes those owner's supplement kits unique and desirable.

I was lucky my 17 was white with blue stripes and that print in all supplements is white with blue stripes. I've got mine framed and on the wall. Looks exactly like my 17 GT350 did.
