Owners Supplemental Package.

As everyone here has acknowledged, it would be the best thing to get the owner's supplement that came with the car because of the certificate with the VIN and the FP crank holder with the chassis #.

If you cannot, then buy one from eBay. It won't be matching, but at least you will have one. If you do that, I actually favor the 2016/2017 over the 2018/2019/2020.

Ford made a change for the 2018 model year. They introduced a hardcover book about the car, which is nice. However, it is what they left out that is most noticeable. They stopped giving you the cool Tom Fritz print. You can't get that print anywhere else. That print looks really good matted and framed. It makes those owner's supplement kits unique and desirable.

Here's the thing... the supplemental package comes with the chassis number of the car on it, not the owners name. It belongs with the car.

Personally speaking, if I were to trade or sell my R, I most likely would include the the supplement and R car cover.

But here's the thing...if I didn't want to I don't have to. I bought it. It's mine to do as I please. I can keep it, give it, sell it, burn it. It's property that I paid for. It's a perk that comes to the buyer of the car.

As an enthusiast one would hope that the supplements would be passed along with the car. I think most petrolheads would agree. However there is such a thing a free will (as @JR369 said above) and should the previous owner wanna be a dick about it, well there is karma to sort those things out.

Myself.... I'd walk. If the deal is not right, walk. Do not get sucked into the "fear of losing something you do not yet own".

I nearly did on my search. I offered a dealer 2k over MSRP on a car that was NOT optioned as I preferred. I'm thank they declined my offer as only weeks later I found THEE car I was searching for at MSRP.

If you want the supplement, then you should have it.... whether with this car or another.

A few years back and long before getting my R, I geeked out massively when I found out about the owner's supplement kits. Sure enough, they began to come up on eBay. I have bought six of them and sold some, which has made me a little pocket change. Currently, eBay does not have much available, but a few months ago, you could have got one for around $200 or less.

Just my opinion.... The supplement kit belongs to the car and should be sold with the car.. it came with the car, it is part of the cars history not the owners history. If I were to ever sell the car, I would without a doubt turn it over to the new owner. Along with every little piece of paper that came out of the car, build sheets ect..

I understand the wish that the kit lives with with the car. On the flip side, if for whatever reason I have to sell my GT350, I'd prefer to keep the kit as a memento of my ownership. Granted I'm a sentimental fool. There is a price that would override my sentimentality, but it remains all the same.

Guess it comes down the details of the transaction. If I traded in the car to a dealer I would keep the kit and see if the new owner goes through the trouble of tracking the kit down. If private party, I'd probably be more willing to part with it but wouldn't bring it up unless the buyer asked.

Just a heads up for those with 2020 HEPs. I checked in with FP today on the Supplemental Package - it's been 9 weeks since purchase for me. My VIN is in process, but they may be missing some vendor supplied piece. Looks like Mid Jan for me so closer to 12 weeks.

I think time also plays a part, in 5-10 years from now I don't think most people looking to buy these will remember about the supplemental package. So I can see why some owners will hold onto them. I definitely will be keeping mine on my dresser like a trophy. But I don't plan on my GT350 selling it. It is kind of a disservice to the new owner and the vehicle because you are making the car less special.

But this a 2020 GT350 we are talking about, the owner is just being a complete dick about it.

Yup thats it and since as I said I was lucky enough to have a 17 white with blue stripes (only color they send out) looks just like my car did and great framed on the wall.

Wow thats impressive, I can see why they stopped. I don't know how non HEP supplement packages look now, but the print would look really well with the HEP, just add the rocker panel stripe and make the badge blue and the GT350 looks just like a GT350 HEP. With the HEP package you get pictures of the Old and the new GT350 side by side, and this would look really good with it. Still a nice picture regardless.

I purchased my 2018 used from a dealer in 2019 and had the exact same issue. In the process of negotiating I mentioned to the salesman that I wasn't interested in the car without the "Owners Supplemental Package." Good bless the salesman (Adam) whom I worked with, as the car had been originally purchased new from that dealership. He drove to the previous owners house on his way home from work and tried to get the man to provide it to me along with the purchase. Needless to say, the guy was a real douche and wouldn't give it over so the dealer bought it back from him and we split the cost in the final purchase price.

It was a real dirt-bag move on his part, but I got the box and am happy I did!
