I'll have to try what berserker sid said. Not a huge fan of these auto climate control systems that keep going back and forth from cooling to heating the air because the inside temp changed one degree.

I tried it and it did not work. The system changes the temp to whatever your setting is. I don't think what the OP asks is possible with the Automatic Climate Control (unless you shut it off and roll the windows down).

i would like to find a tried and true way of doing this, i drive with windows down as much as i can but sometimes its a little too cold at highway speeds but having the ambient air pass through gets you some much needed air circulation. My 1997 toyota celica was the best with this, with the fan off and highway driving it felt like a refreshing subtle breeze in he car.

Like I said just turn the fan on low and set your temp. It still regulates temp automatically.

Turn the temperature all the way down to low. Make sure the A/C and Auto lights are off with the power switch on. That's as close as you'll get. Enjoy!

I go outside only when there is no vehicular traffic like a park or a mall, or work unless I am riding my Ducati but that's mostly on highways with almost no traffic.
Don't like dusty interior.

Not sure if this works on the 'stang (I hope it does) but I've done it this way on every other car I've owned in the last 25 years (I like the fresh are thru the vents when it's cool out).

Press the auto button
manually switch off the a/c (should switch from recirc mode to "fresh intake" mode)
lower the temp to 60
set fan speed where you like (usually 2 or 3 is fine)
enjoy the fresh (but still filtered) air

I always manually switch off the a/c as I get close to my destination anyway to eliminate any condensation (and thus bad smells eventually) from building in the ducts.

You need to set the temp to 65 or below, or the heat may come on. If you set it to minimum, it won't heat the vented air.

It does if the measured temperature is less than you set it at. So if you set it at 65 and the outside air is 58 so the car reaches 58, it heats it.

Not if you set to the very minimum, which I think is 60. It gives up and lets you actually have a vent. I have had very cold air blowing on me.
