Yeah the local dealer has three golden tickets for GT500's but Ford isn't accepting orders at this time for them due to part constraints.
If a dealer has three golden tickets, he can order three — today. Can’t determine when they will be delivered... But if he can’t order them, he doesn’t have an allocation. Any allocation to a dealer means he can order it now.
On the other hand, just because he takes your deposit and claims to make an order (that never materializes), means he never had an allocation. Only the Regional Sales Manager and the Ford Store GM knows who has what allocations.
I haven’t checked, but I would be shocked if the order banks are still open for the 2020 model year Mustangs, and even more shocked if anyone has an unordered GT500 allocation of any type.

Like I said, they have three golden tickets and when they tried placing an order, Ford kicked it back with they were not able to take orders at this time.

Then he does not have an allocation. If a dealer has an allocation, they can always place an order. This has always been the case. Whoever told you that doesn’t know what he is talking about.

I guess I don't know enough about the golden tickets. I figured golden tickets WERE allocations.

And yeah I don't much trust this dealership anyway as they lost my 350 cover and refuse to replace it.

It’s a type of allocation. But dealers have been falsely claiming they have one (or more) and they did not. Then blaming Ford when they can’t order one. My dealer had 5 regular GT500 allocations and one Golden Ticket. 100% were ordered the first month (July 2019). They have received 3 so far to include the CFTP just yesterday. Expect to get their last two deliveries in the next month or so.
According to our GT500 tracking expert (Snoopy49), over 4200 VINs out of 5000 for the 2020 model year have been issued already. And they are issuing about 200/week against orders placed long ago. So the 2020 MY is essentially done for GT500’s.

With all due respect I suggest that the OP is looking for a GT350/R therefore 3 Golden Ticket allocations for a GT500 really is not relevant to this thread.

Having said that I suggest that the order banks are still open and that a GT350 and/or R model can still be ordered subject to getting an allocation from the local area zone Ford rep.

:)
Actually this is not the case. I have to dealer that each have an allocation and Ford is not accepting the orders.

I am not sure what your dealership is telling you but with respect to the order banks being open/closed and having an allocation for a GT350 or an R are two totally different issues.

Unfortunately so many of the ~3000 Ford dealerships in America have no idea what they are talking about with some of these same dealerships still telling these same customers that we can order a 2021 GT350/R which is certainly not the case.

Maybe the order banks are closed now but can tell you that a friend of mine placed an order for a 2020 R just last week and his order was accepted and confirmed therefore take that for whatever it is worth.

:)

With his order just being recently accepted I would really doubt that a schedule build date and a VIN has already been generated.

There are numerous individuals that have had a VOC for quite some time that still don't have a scheduled build date and/or VIN let alone someone that just had his order accepted recently.

Do you really think that VIN's and scheduled build dates are assigned just a week or two after an order is accepted?

Yes, I've ordered 2 other cars and had my VIN in a week.
Maybe I should contact that dealer. Fact is a order placed and confirmed means nothing.
Doesn't mean they will build it.

If you have ordered 2 other Shelby GT350/R's and had a VIN within a week then you are obviously the exception and not the rule.

BTW, what 2 cars have you ordered and had a VIN within a week?

After ordering numerous 2nd generation GT500's, 2nd generation Boss 302's, 2015 50th Anniversary Mustang GT's and numerous GT350/R's I would suggest that I know how the system works.

Was it not your dealership that suggested that the GT350/R was available for the 2021 MY?

That statement pretty much speaks for itself and obviously your dealership has no idea as to what they are suggesting!

At this point, I'll probably just pick one of the lot. IMO, they aren't going anywhere.
I work in the medical field and the virus, which never went away in the first place, is "back".
The end of the year is going to be brutal for the markets, and these cars will sit.
I have quite a few around me selling for $59k brand new. I really just wanted it exactly the way
I wanted but I think I can live with it. All the best in your search.

Yeah, you should probably wait til all those $59k brand new ones are gone. The market should really cool off after that. lol

Btw, if you work in the medical field, you'd know, just as investors know, that FLU19 is one big scam.
