So since I now may have to be kicked to 2022 (its like the damn Bronco all over again) do we know when the 2022 B&P will be available?

So I am attempting to order a 2021 and have just been told that Ford is not allowing Black Accent Package orders to go through currently for 2021 cars. Anyone else hear anything about this?
Ordered Black Accent on 7-21 was confirmed on 7-23 build week of 10-18. Hopefully this isn't true and doesn't hold mine up even more

I thought if you had a VIN and a production date your car would not be moved to the following year

Once it gets a VIN I think the model year is locked in. One of the digits of the VIN defines model year. So if you get a VIN for a ‘21, it can’t be entered as a ‘22. They’d have to reissue a new VIN.
How likely is that to happen

This is something I found out just today when the dealer was trying to start my order. Maybe they are having supply issues with the wheels or something. They could not give me a reason.

That s what I thought too but with plants closing and no supply I think it s unchartered territory .
They could just cancel the vin# for production and tell you to order a 2022. That s what I fear. After all this time Im not sure I d re order.

We both ordered Mach 1's.. which are limited production year cars, and they are expensive cars. I would think Ford would prioritize our orders over $30K Ecoboost Stangs and base model GTs

Tbh i doubt I would also. Especially since it will likely come with an msrp increase.

I may be being naive, but I believe that for those of us with VINs our cars will be built this year. I know the plant closure this week is disheartening, but it is just one week and there are people on here that got their cars even though their cars were in the pipeline during the May, June and July closures. Have faith guys!✌🏻

Ordered my Mach 1 on 8/10.
Order confirmation: 8/10
Schedule date: ??

Mach 1, Premium, 6-speed, Handling Package, Elite Package
Iconic Silver, Red Calipers
I am in your shoes also. Order confirmed August 13. No VIN. See my signature for my build. Basically fully loaded automatic. Sound like the handling pack and leather seats are the holding us up.

I see you’re a moderator so do you happen to know if an order already has a VIN will it for certain be a MY2021 or could Ford invalidate the VIN, cancel order and instruct customer to resubmit when MY2022 order banks open up?
As I understand it, if you have a VIN, your order will be built. Ford schedule in sufficient time between order banks closing and the new model year builds.
