He hasnt bought anything yet and can still use the X Plan if his dealer accepts it when he goes to actually purchase the vehicle.

Its sound advice that I wouldnt mind having anyone give me.
Exactly. I said something not to pile on, but so he would (hopefully) still be able to take ACTION and save some more money when he takes delivery. He obviously had no idea what X-plan is before...

I'm not knocking the x-plan, but I don't have it and I've never paid more than 200-300 over invoice for a new car. And I've never stayed at a dealership more than an hour to get those sorts of deals.

The x-plan certainly makes it easier to get those sorts of deals, but they're their still there even without the x-plan. Now that I know about it I'm going to use it, but just saying that you can still get similar deals without it. Just gotta find the right dealership, be confident and have a "no bs" attitude.

This part is important especially for first-time new car buyers. When I bought my Mustang I had never purchased a new car before(at least from a dealership I didn't work at) so I was very nervous. Looking back I could have definitely picked up a better deal but I let my excitement get the better of me. Had I known about the x-plan and just given the saleswoman a number I could have walked out with a couple thousand bucks still in my pocket.

Next time around I'll be smarter and I have my MCA membership now.
