DAMNED well worth the wait.

While you are waiting, order the Steeda clutch pedal spring if you got a manual, Steeda Progressive springs and your favorite exhaust system. These will get you started and you can thank me later. :D

I'm in the same "waiting boat" and it sucks. I actually dreamt 2 nights ago that my car arrived this weekend, lol.

I was thinking about replacing the clutch and springs too but what do you think about replacing just the clutch spring and shifter knob vs replacing the whole thing with a short shifter? Cost vs. performance?

Also, I ordered a PP but not sure if there's some way I can lower the stance by an inch or so all around on just the stock springs or I'd have to get new springs like the Steeda.

Sorry for all the questions. I'm a total mustang noob coming from German and Japanese sport cars.

If you have the money, go ahead and do the shifter too. I'm planning on a Barton since I can remove the springs and retain the stock style reverse lockout. MGW is another great shifter option, but you have to lift up on the handle, and it has a good spring tension to re center it in neutral. It will take more force than stock to push the stick to the 1-2 and 5-6 gates. As soon as the budget can spare the change, I'm getting the Barton.
I went ahead and did a white shift knob as soon as they hit the market. I got one of the first ones made by Bully Dog. It's the classic Hurst look with the engraved numbers and smaller font.

A lot of guys here with the Perf Pack have also replaced the springs with the Steeda Progressives and reported a much smoother, less bounce ride. I don't think there is a way to lower it other than cutting a coil, and it would really ride rough then.
Steeda has a LOT of suspension upgrades for the S550.

Oh yes, the jacking rails are a must have accessory if you ever work on your car.

Thanks Scott! I think I'll go with the full shifter replacement to start. I want to keep all my mods under 5K, at least for the first year or I'll just do too much. So my order of mods are;
Hood struts
Progressive lowering springs
Full clutch replacement
Cat-back exhaust
20x10 FW, 20X11 RW with michelins
LED replacement lights and switchbacks.
Maybe a GT30 steering wheel if I have some leftover $$$.

I have a long way to go!

Wow thanks everyone!

I just ordered a Base Black GT. No options other than 3:55 gears. Manual Trans.
I'm just north of Toronto so its a 4hour drive from the Michigan plant.

Order date was July 19th so looks like I'll be waiting a bit.
Hoping it arrives before the snow hits!

In Canada right now they have Ford Employee pricing plus Costco membership discount. So it worked to about $4000 off in savings.

I was also looking at 13'-14' models and paid close to what there going for used!

Currently have a 2008 CivicSI couple as my daily driver.

Thanks! It is a fun little car.
How I learned to drive manual. My Dad had an 06. I was scared shitless to drive it. I remember him pulling over on the interstate, getting out and handing me the keys. I was like, what is this for?

"Time to be a man."

So, I learned how to drive stick on I-71. Awesome experience *eye rolls*

Still the best way to drive a car. I don't care how fantastic automatics get. Nothing beats it.

Hey all,

Ordered a new MustangGT 2 weeks ago factory order. Originally wanted a CamaroSS but hated driving it(visibility plus GT was almost 10k cheaper!). Just wondering, how long did you guys have to wait till your car arrived?

Dealer advised 8-10weeks. I'm hoping its more towards 8! Also, when do you receive your V.I.N.#?

This is the first time I've ever factory ordered a vehicle. Always bought used but the deals on right now were too hard to pass up!
Congrats on your order and welcome, Monopoly!! Be sure to contact our FordServiceCA Rep here so they can track your order.

I think the 0% is only in the US, in Canada we have Employee Pricing and Costco Rebate right now.

... My build day is Aug 8th confirmed my Deysha (Fordservice on here). Once you get your VIN, PM her with your name and VIN and she can get you an accurate build date and ETA when available. ...
Thank you for the kind words and support, SoulTea!

I ordered mine 8 June 16 and the Blend date was this past Monday, 25 July. Still hasn't been released for shipping yet. Vin appeared on 15 July. Hope this helps and congrats. Now the waiting.....
Yours is already in transit, Sletcher!

Took about a week to get my VIN but it's been pretty useless having it as none of the tracking sites worked for me. I got most of my updates through my dealer. ...
It just shipped out today, Rustang. The new ETA is 8/13/16, which is subject to change.

Just got Vin# last week from my dealer. He mentioned build date will be 2nd week of August and delivery would be mid September. Order date was 4th of July. Which site do you go to check on build progress

Congrats on your orders, guys! You’re welcomed to PM me with your dealer’s name and order numbers for updates.
