I ordered my 2019 last Sept with delivery in Jan 2019 Base GT A10 301A (for drag mode) and 3.55s. On some paper work at delivery it stated 3.55 with Torsen axle, I am not sure if this is true but with drs it hooks great at the track.Anyone know if the Torsen is included with 3.55 option. Thanks

The 3:55 is the ratio of your ring and pinion, those are bolted to the differential which is a Torsen Limited Slip unit. You can choose from a good range of ring gears to bolt to the Torsen.

Look here.

Options were Trac-Loc and Torsen differentials, that is a thread from here. I haven't read, but good info can be gleaned from just the first post.

Thanks for the info I was not sure if it is the stock limited slip made by Torsen or the good Torsen.

That reads like a standard clutch style limited slip. Which for drag racing is better

Very interesting. I wasn't shopping for an auto, so I didn't know they charged for 3.55s.

I'd think the Mustang build site could clarify what type of diff it is.

ETA; I'd think it's not a Torsen. On the Mustang build site, it reads;

3.55 Limited Slip Rear Axle

A 3.55 limited slip rear axle is included with the 2.3L EcoBoost® High Performance Package on Mustang EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium. Standard with the 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine with 6-speed manual transmission; optional with the 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine with 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission.

Torsens press release states it's only on pp cars and the gt350

It`s been running great at the track with DR`s in drag mode 11.70 @ 119.9. This page was in with a packet of paper work at delivery.

Yeah, the optional stand-alone 3.55 is not a TORSEN, the 3.55 that's "bundled" with the PP is, but the info in that first post is curious, probably just bad data - what's that from?

This form also states that you have a convertible top, so obviously it's not correct.

^^^ Correct on both counts.

There were many options for the 2015-2017 rear pumpkin depending on the platform chosen. So I am not going through all available case/gear types....

The 2018-2019+ GT or EB PP’s all come with iron pumpkins and Torsen. The 2018-2019+ iron case will be coated black with a cast aluminum rear cover. Also to note, the 2018-2019+ GT/EB PP rear covers will have the included threaded port for the rear axle temp sensor.

A) The 2018-19+ GT w/ MT82 came w/ Torsen and 3.73’s.

B) The 2018/19 GT or EB w/10R80 came w/ Torsen and 3.55’s.

BTW - The linked thread in post #3 is from 2014! LMAO...

——

TIP:
- If the rear diff has Trac-loc guts, you won't be able to see through it with axles removed. There will be a "bar" in the hole which is for the spider gears.

- If the rear diff has Torsen guts, you'll be able to see through it with axles removed.
