Order tracking by dealer

This is all very confusing. My dealer said according to his computer screen there is no such word as Build Date. He said there are two pages and one of the headings was Status Date which in my case was 14/8/2015. I am one of their first 6 orders out of well over 40 orders. The other five have that same date of 14/8/2015. Aussie Mate, have you heard of Status Date? Is Build Date and Status Date the same thing?

It will have a status and then a status date. The status is what gets updated throughout the order process.

When it's being built the status will change to segmentation or something like that.

Once you have a VIN - you can then find out the build date from Deysha

I have had my VIN since the beginning of September and after sending this to Deysha the best she could come up with today was:

"It still has not received a build date or an ETA, Ian. It only shows a tentative week of 10/12/15. Check back next week. Have a nice day!
Deysha"

And this Aussie Mate is after only one month difference between your order date and mine.

Had my vin since Aug 17 and got my window sticker tonight with a build date of Oct 1st
Hopefully time enough to catch the 1st boat out of Baltimore
Wasn't expecting anything from Flat Rock at 6am their time, maybe the window stickers don't come from the plant?

Please ignore my ignorance but I got my "Welcome" email on 1st September. Any idea when I should expect my VIN and did people get this from their dealer or emailed to them ? I seem to get more info on here than anything my dealer can provide. Thanks in advance...

5th March 2015 was contract date - Stillwell Ford Medindie in SA is dealer.

They probably won't have your VIN for a little while, they normally issue them a few weeks out from build.

They probably won't have your VIN for a little while, but I would suggest either contacting your dealer or Ford Australia via Facebook, you should have received the email based on what others here have posted recently.

My email came through a few months back, but my order date was over 12 months ago.

Thanks WILDB. Having received the Welcome letter earlier than expected according to dealer expectation, I wasn't sure how long to wait until hassling my dealer for VIN. Appreciate your help...

I also got my email on 01/09 for an order placed on 05/03.

My dealer called a few days later confirming a 02/16 delivery and a 12/15 build.

Nah mate, the VIN won't be available until the build date gets closer.

I've got a stock number from the dealer but nothing else. No Ford email either.

Ford (via dealer) said emails only going out to buyers from larger dealerships...

Ordered Dec '14.

Any thoughts where in the line my car might be?

I have received my build date now, should be the second week of October, the car should be delivered 5/12/2015. So happy I have the VIN because now all my information comes from a reliable source and not a useless dealer :clap2:
