Hi all,

Wondering if anyone is looking at installing GPS tracking in their cars. If you have, what did you go with? Pros and Cons?

The number of prestige cars being stolen in Melbourne at the moment is out of control, its only a matter of time before the tip-rats get onto the Mustang bandwagon. :paddle:

Yep, getting dealer to install at pre delivery for $990. Don't know what brand it is (but will let you know when I pick up the car), but it is fitted behind the dash and you can track the car with an ap on your phone. If stolen, you give the logins to the Police nd go to priority, and car can be disabled by them.

I've recently done a small group buy on the Meitrack T333 GPS unit to fit in my 65 restomod and have a unit left over, units delivered unpackaged.
It runs on the 3G network (with 2G finishing soon), can be run from a smartphone and be configured to control fuel or ignition cutoff remotely.
You can either organise your own sim card or if you go with the Aust distributors, they supply software support - for $20pm the unit sends a signal to the server every 2 minutes, $30pm is sends it every 10 seconds.
Price for the unit/wiring & aerial is $225 plus GST and $10 postage, all up $260.
PM me if interested.

Cheers

J

The GPS tracker fitted to my car is by QuikProtect ($990 installed by dealer).
