So this morning a tuner from Livernois showed up????

Oh yeah that's right I broke down and ordered one. Yesterday. Guess I couldn't hold out any longer. (Lets not get into a debate of tuner, tuning, devices, vendors etc.... I've been paying lots of attention for quite a while now and this was not a snap decision)

At 18,000 miles I expect if there were a gross mechanical problem it would have surfaced by now. At least that's my justification.

So after getting my ECU Cal and SWID data emailed to them I received an email back. Today? Already? That was quick.:thumbsup:

Once I got home I installed the Tuner Updater software (Worked flawlessly on Windows 10 BTW) and proceeded to hook up the tuner. Without drama it downloaded and updated the tuner putting the new tunes on in the process.

Then I went and loaded the tune in the ECU. Once finished it started right up. No drama. Now I just need for it to stop raining so I can actually go to Mexico and experience the difference without putting it in the ditch.

I'm looking forward to going to the track soon with my co-worker (we both also own GT S197's) and running his WRX down in the 1/8th (No 1/4's close by). Last time he killed me on the launch (Wheel hop anyone? Best 60' - 2.18 ) and even though I consistently posted higher MPH I couldn't catch him. So now I've gotten better at launching on the stock Pirellis (Practice) and am curious.

Yes I'm rambling.:headbonk: Haha.

Anyway happy to have joined the group of tuned cars finally.

My only regret is I didn't tune the car sooner.
How are you launching with the PP wheels?
It was easy to find the sweet spot with my old base. These things have a much smaller window to get just right. What RPM and clutch slip or dump?

I don't rev it up before releasing the clutch. It's a balance of feeding it throttle and clutch, as much of both as possible, while keeping the tires at the limit of traction. Too much of either and your spinning, wheel hopping etc. So yeah clutch slip.

Great choice! I'm sure you'll love it. This car just never stops pulling when it's tuned right

From my short, rain soaked drive last night I could tell the throttle response was much improved. Hoping today dries up as I'm still in the dark as to what it's capable of.

18K before you put the tune on damn! I had a hard time waiting to get through the first tank of gas to put my tune on. I hate how the car feels on the stock tune. Soo much torque management and strange throttle response on the stock tune. Just wait until you can get on it. A tune changes the character of the car completely.

Congrats on your new-found capabilities for your 'stang!

Try 2 years to keep your factory warranty (and no, they are not as lenient as in the US here). The only thing making it easy is that the engine isn't even properly broken in, the Euro tune is different and there are no tunes out for our side of the pond. I like to believe the EU tune is a bit better than the US one, as I haven't heard any of the reviewers in Europe mention 'that it runs out of breath at the high rev ranges'. That said, we haven't seen any dyno charts either and there's ALWAYS room for improvement. ;)

The difference is akin to going from Normal mode to Sport + to Sport ++
