My personal experience. I've had big power 4 Bangers. My old SRT-4 would trap 122 in the 1/4. With that said. If your one of those people like me that it's never fast enough. The V8 is the way to go! Mod for mod you wont be able to match the V8s power. Sure you'll outrun the lightly modded 5.0s but you'll never catch the big boys. If your not worried about being the fastest guy at the track a modded EB running V8 times is very cool and you'll be surprised how many people love to see the little guy run with and often outrun it's big brother. You got an awesome car and for me it would suck to go from a premium with a ton of mods to a base GT. But if your a modding mad man the V8 is the way to go. Period!

My EB was a Base with a Performance package and Recros as the only options..
My GT is a Base with only and Automatic as option.
After owning the EB 6spd PP for six months and having a bit of fun moding and racing.
I learned a few things, PP gearing is to low (3.55 vs. 3.31 had to shift extra time in the 1/8 and 1/4) and Autos are faster and easier to race..
this last one I've know for years.
It might also help to know where I come from
