Hello! I've done a search and can't find reference to my problem so I'm hoping someone might know the answer.

I have no sound at all from my right rear deck speaker. I hoped it was a blown speaker so when I pulled all the rear panels out and swapped the wire from my left speaker to my right the right speaker works fine which says its a wiring issue.
Has anyone had this issue before?
The wires appear to come onto the rear deck and into some boxes, could these be faulty? what are the boxes? is there any way to trouble shoot them?

Thanks in advance!

You might want to tell everyone which car you have, year and model, and which stereo you have.

 That's a very Valid point. It's a 2019 GT Premium with a 6 speaker system from what I can see so far. Stereo is all stock from what I can tell, I have pulled some Amp wiring out of the car but I couldn't see any way that it was spliced into the stereo system it was mainly a power cable from the battery through to the trunk with some sort of controller and other wires from that.

The 2019 Premium has the 9-speaker system at a minimum - 1 midrange and 1 bass speaker per door, 2 a-pillar tweeters, 1 center dash speaker, and 2 rear deck speakers.

Ah, ok. I haven't torn the doors or dash apart yet. I just assumed there were one in each door, the tweeters on the A pillars and the 2 in the rear deck. Either way, one of those in the rear deck isn't getting a signal and I wondered what all the components on the rear deck were for.

Nothing fancy back there, and the speakers have to be the lightest weight, cheapest looking and feeling speakers I've ever come across. It was fairly easy to replace them. You'll have to check your wiring. Maybe something got pinched or snagged, shorting out one side.

maybe a job for the weekend... urghh, I'm no stranger to working on cars but wiring is a pain in the a$$, it's always inaccessible and encased in the loom wrap...

Cheers!

I think most of us feel the same way about electrical problems and wiring... Good luck! Hopefully, it will be something obvious and easy to fix. 👍🏼

Btw, I squeezed myself into the trunk on my back with legs sticking out, and then almost thought I'd need help removing myself, but was slowly able to work myself out on my own (after kicking my shoes off so I wouldn't scuff the paint)! 6'2", 200 lbs for reference. I'm sure anyone driving by got a kick out of it! 😂

You don't need to pull anything apart, the speakers all have grilles that are visible on the a-pillars and door panels. There's also a center speaker in the dash, that's 7, there are two more in the back. It should say Shaker at the bottom of the center dash. So first, those rear speakers are worse than the old dash speakers they used to put in 1960s pickups, but they should be working. This is the wiring diagram for the setup, looks pretty straightforward

Shaker logo was gone for 2019. But otherwise, the system is the same. There should not be any boxes with wires going to the speakers, unless they are already aftermarket.

hmm, so I wonder what the boxes on the rear deck are for. they all say ford and the wires going to the speakers go through them.
I'll take some pics

I think the speakers might have had some sort of plastic frame or something where there was a connector to plug the wires into. It may have had a black box shape. Here's a pick of my OEM and upgraded speakers. Can you guess which is which? 🤣

So you bought the car used and it came with a power feed running to the trunk? Look for some spliced wires in the decklid harness. Sounds like someone had an aftermarket amp and maybe messed up the factory wiring. It's a common practice to grab signals off the rear speakers to feed another amplifier.

The black box on the decklid is the radio antenna.

Ahh, I stopped reading that post after the reference to 6 speakers... You are most certainly correct. That had to be the remnants of an amp install that was pulled when the car was sold/traded. The "controller" he mentioned is likely a line out converter (LOC). Maybe when the op "pulled" these items out, he disrupted the splice.

Thanks guys I’ll pull bits out again at the weekend and see if there’s anything I can see. There are two silver box looking things (not totally boxed but rectangular ) mounted there as well as the black box.
