I thought I would start a new thread so everyone can add their personal experience regarding on-track performance, specifically about the overheating transmission issue. Let's keep the complaints and opinions on the other threads, just the facts here, please....

How about just these parameters:

* Base, Tech, or Track Pack?
* Which Track were you on?
* Ambient Air Temp?
* How long was your session?
* Trans Temp if available?
* Racing / Track Day Experience ( Judgement Free Zone :thumbsup: )
* End result.....

To be fair, the car is restricting revs before the transmission overheats. Again, semantics, but the car is saving itself rather than letting the fluid break down.

But sure, let's go through this exercise so yet more people can throw judgements and blame in various directions...

* Base, Tech, or Track Pack? Tech
* Which Track were you on? Chuckwalla
* Ambient Air Temp? 80F
* How long was your session? 8 sessions, reached engine limiting between 12 and 15 (first run when trans completely cold) minutes of 20 minute sessions.
* Trans Temp if available? Reaches 280F precisely at engine limiting, measured by nGauge
* Racing / Track Day Experience ( Judgement Free Zone ) Not sure what this means, my prior experience? 8 years on and off. 25+ LeMons races, 15 or so days of tracking my old Boss 302, Probably another 15-20 days of tracking my other cars.
* End result..... It's still very fun on track, I'd have preferred the precise limitations been better spelled out, but it's not like it can't do any laps on track. Every pompous Track pack owner can bite me. I'll be happy to install the coolers, if they're made available for a reasonable price and reasonably soon (aka not in a year from now).

Thanks Mattlqx! Just trying to get a clear picture here. Track experience will give some indication as to how hard the car was driven. Someone out for their first ever track day will not induce the same results as a veteran track dog. Let's keep it clean and get the facts. Hopefully, in the end, it will give everyone a better idea of what we're dealing with here...

I was driving maybe 6/10ths at the beginning and 7/10ths at the end. New track 200 miles from home, new car, long weekend, stock alignment, street tires. It was primarily a data gathering event.

* Base, Tech, or Track Pack? tech
* Which Track were you on? Nola Indy Circuit
* Ambient Air Temp? 78
* How long was your session? Lasted 17 mins first, 18 mins second. 1 hr in between sessions. Same thing happened both times during lap 9.
* Trans Temp if available? not available. Might get data from dealership
* Racing / Track Day Experience ( Judgement Free Zone ) Moderate. Previous track cars, competent driver. i run HPDE-4 when i do nasa HPDE days, if that makes a difference.
* End result..... car pulled power. still sounded great and was fun. I wish i could push the car harder before nanny mode steps in. i have basically, the same sentiment as mattlqx.

Overheating Transmission Poll?

These cars were non stop at the Sebring track tour all day with zero issues. And it was pretty hot out.

Ford has not run any cars at official events except Track packs.

I didn't see any tech pack cars at the LS track tour event.

I think this thread is going to be full of tech pack cars with the same issue. And track pack cars without the issue, except for in the most extreme circumstances. Which doesn't surprise me. Does it really surprise the people who bought tech pack cars and track them?

Since we don't have any other poll regarding tranny cooling issues, i thought i'b be a good idea to keep this one at the top. Maybe a mod could make it a sticky.
