This is interesting information posted by 10splaya22 on another thread. I'm sure the heat from the converters is pushing the heat threshold...

" Heat buildup is the issue, swapping fluids won't do much. The fluid isn't breaking down prematurely because the car is preventing that at a certain temp.

Lethal tracked their Tech pack car with no issues. Only difference is that it was catless. I think some more testing needs to be done. Another member on SVTP is also looking at adding a air scoop to direct airflow to the transmission tunnel area. I think these areas are where the effort needs to be concentrated."

Please, Please, Please... Take your car to a dealer, ask them to pull logs and report the problem to Ford.

The more data points that they have, the better this will go for everyone.
Taking it in today.

But that is not the point......Of course everyone would expect the Track package or R to be better on the track. But that doesn't mean the Tech package should be "untrackable". If we wanted a dedicated track car, I think all would go for one of those models. But Tech pack owners likely want a great car to drive every day and occasionally take to the track.

My M3 (also high revving V8) didn't have a "track pack" and never had a problem. None of the M3/M4s at my track day had a "track" package. Nor did the miatas, the challengers, Chargers, the 235 or 335s, base corvettes, base caymans or even the pick up truck one session.

The point is......ONLY the 3 Tech package Ford GT350s were unable to complete a session. Ford should be embarrassed. Well, not completely true. A green charger ran out of gas during session 2 and had to be towed off. But other than that, it was just the GT350s.
Your beating a dead horse with this guy fuhrius. He says the same crap to every thread with this issue.....:repost::hitcomputer::paddle::headbonk::frusty:

Well, This is what i got from the Customer Hotline case manager:

Cliff notes: Sorry, Tough shit, we don't have a part or fix. Even if ford performance offered the part, it the part impacted operation of the transmission to the point a warranty claim had to be made, it would not be covered.

The only GT350 vehicles that are actually designed for the TRACK are the "R" versions.

The track pack does include equipment to help the car on the track, but is not designed for the track.

In short, there is nothing that we can or will do for you about your issue.

So, I escalated to a supervisor whom will call me back by the end of tomorrow.

This is the information that CS is being fed from the technical people. I don't fault her, but it is agitating that I even have to go through this.

It sounds to me like ford performance IS NOT working on a solution for the problem, based on the feedback that I am getting.

What it sounds like it is going to shape up to come out like is this:

want to keep your current car? Pay your dealer to swap in what you need to add coolers to the car... take your medicine. Even if you use factory parts, we can't promise your warranty is valid.

OR Add aftermarket coolers and if you can't prove that they have nothing to do with a failure, claim denied.

OR

Eat shit, sell the 2016 to someone who won't ever track it, enjoy the loss , then buy a 2017 so you can have what you want.

Thanks.

Now that's just great, even the track pack cars aren't made for the track. Wow just wow.

Well i guess now we'll just have to wait and see what these guys from Colorado springs come up with.

That is so dissapointing. :brokenheart:

Hey folks, this thread is for gathering helpful, real data related to the overheating issue. Please save whining and complaining for all the other threads....

Well. I will put this here, based on the fact that it is absolutely a waste of time and energy to have a conversation with anyone at Ford's customer service organization.

Ford has no intention of addressing the Limp Mode condition in any way, shape or form, according to the supervisors/SMEs.

If you did not order an "R" package, and yes, that means you too track page owners, they have no intention of helping you out.

They do not care what the logs say. They do not care what the marketing said. They do not care how it was sold. They do not care why you bought it. They do not care about availability. They do not care about ADM.

They do not care about improving the time until limp mode at all. They do not care that you would be willing to subsidize the cost of corrective action. They do not care that a ford dealer will not install the factory parts that are required to add the corrective action( i.e. new transmission and associated cooling bits). In short, they are not interested in making anything even marginally better for you.

What they will tell you, is that they will give you the address to Ford Corporate and that you can write a letter.

So there you have it folks. Record all the data that you want. Document all the evidence that you'd like. Ford doesn't give a flying crap. you bought what you bought, and enjoy your car.

All that said... continue on.

If that's really the case, then I probably won't buy another Ford. I'm not really a "Ford guy" anyway. :brokenheart::(

I have not had any issues thus far. Will be at Barber for a full day of track sessions April 2nd. WI'll report back. From what my Temps have been so far, I do not see any issues. FP may have included the TP in the mix as a blanket statement. There is no difference in the cooling between the TP or the R.

I'm from a ford family. so it especially sucks. I had hoped they would have handled this better. I still have a couple out of band contacts that i will call, but i'm not hopeful at all.

This reminds me of the MT82 fiasco back in 2011.

Running changes were made to address some complaints so I would not exactly compare it. The tough thing here is replication of this condition. I feel for the folks experiencing this.
