Mine is a GT with stripes and Custom pack.

Though cant complain I was quoted 12 months - so If it arrives early id be happy.
Which might explain why your wait is way different to mine, again, i was told 'September 2016' - 13months wait, to be told March, jumping 7 months, I really can't complain, however i'm a total dbag and I want the car on new plate months :frusty:

I assume that's a GT.

Messages i've seen elsewhere there's multiple reasons for 'delayed' and 'different' builds:

Ecoboosts >ARE< building quicker than GTs
Fastbacks quicker than Vertes
GT's with Racing stripes are slower than without (Considerably slower, first time fords offered this in 'mass' for a car)
GT's with Black roof are also slower than without
Each 'additional extra' also makes the build slower to my knowledge as they can be understocked on Rear Parking sensors, Shaker pro systems, Chrome trim etc.

In short you can't take what someone elses build date is, as the same as yours, if you look at my signature, you'll see I ordered in august, build date was nov, now it's early Jan, and arrival 'march'. But I'm an EB, Fastback, with the Nav + Shaker pro pack only. More mods, longer wait (Annoying i know)
I think you're essentially correct, tho I can't help but think there may be politics playing a part somewhere along the line; certain dealers getting priority build slots, etc, though no idea on what criteria...

IF ( << big if) my car is built at the start of January and IF (again) it reaches me at the end of March/start of April I'll be happy. As much as i'd like it now I really don't need it over the next couple of months.

Politics does play a big part in it, i'd agree, I think the bigger city dealers are going to see them come sooner, because logically, if they're going to be driving it through busier cities than small villages it's more publicity for the brand. Partnered with the expectation that the bigger citites usually equal higher value clientele, that being said, i've ordered mine from the central Birmingham dealership, bristol street motors, which as a chain are quite big. As for more politics, my older brother and farther are both chartered accountants and audited that exact branch multiple times. (Although that didn't get me any discount, or a plane flew over :lol:).

As with you, if mine comes march i'm happy, otherwise my dealer knows full well to not bother trying to give me it until September and they can have it sit there :paddle: (In reality, that's more of a threat than something that will happen in practise), however in experience, set an expectation and a time limit on the dealer, make sure they stick to it, dont let them set the goal posts as the saying goes.

 There's no tail sliding in the snow in the warmer months.

That being said, it'll be my first RWD car, and also 4x as powerful as my current car, so i'm with the other Steve here, i'd much prefer it in March than before, just to get to know the car before tackling snow etc.

Hey Matt,

When did you order? I've got the same spec - see below - and I've only been waiting 2 years :tsk:
(PS - I'm near Colchester too so we'll have to meet up...eventually!)

Less likely... Come on don't spoil my future already Ian, I don't want to have to drive it in the snow, especially as I live on a private roat that nobody grits... I'll just follow the neighbours M4 out and cause an expensive crash

Fair weather...in Scotland! :D
Nah, it'll be out in nearly all weathers, but i'll draw the line at ice and snow. Got another car for that. I'm relatively confident in my own abilities but it turns to silly season up here on January 1st...

How inconsistent are these dates....I ordered in July 2015 and I have a build date of Jan 3rd 2016....
I ordered 4th july, seems they never processed my order until august and have had nada information about a build date.
