I had an email from my dealer today saying that delivery of the demos has been put back to December. I suppose this must be the 'dealer communication' Ford promised at the end of last week. Either that or he has been reading this forum, which is where I'd gathered that information from some time ago!

Are not the Demos supposed to be in the first batch?

That doesn't necessarily mean any others will be delayed.

Maybe there was a build issue with this first lot that needed rectifying which meant they missed the scheduled boat and later builds are corrected as they go down the production line?

Could be any number of reasons and although likely, it's not guaranteed that the batch after this delayed one will also be delayed. They may end up consolidating both batches onto the same boat.

We will all be in the first batch at this rate lol, the lead time of 3 months for demo cars seems a bit much, hope thats a worst case scenario thing.

Wait, your dealer emailed you without you emailing them first? :lol:

Wasn't it always delivery could be October/November/December.

Yep, always been Q4 for me (dealer estimating November), so it's not late until delivery rolls over to 2016 (from my point of view, anyway - I appreciate others have different views).

Sounds like even if they can't make that, it shouldn't be too much longer (not more than a month hopefully). Not ideal - I'm as impatient as the next guy for the cars to get here, but still manageable.

The thing is if my car delivery rolls into January, and that's quite possible the way things are, it will be 5 months old.

Yeah, understand that - I guess there was some issue on the earlier cars, but that's clearly too long & massively frustrating. I take it there's no good information coming out about why such a delay?

(why do I even bother asking such a daft question [emoji12])

I don't get why there would be problems with the first batch of customer RHD cars because;

1) They build prototypes to iron out those said problems.
2) They knew about the RHD manifold problem long time ago and has also been proven with the "unveiling" of the RHD car at Dunton, which was built 2nd June.
3) They used a LHD mustang to test logistics, ports, transport etc to get it from Flat Rock to UK so again ironed out those problems.

Clearly something is not working right at Flat Rock with getting these RHD versions built but I can understand what that could be!!

Maybe they are waiting for the Ford Racing Tune to be finally released which will come as standard on all new builds (including all new RHD cars), bumping power to 475 HP and 450TQ!!!

Now THAT would be something worth waiting for.
