Im not certain if Ford/UK is using DORA's or not, but if you have your dora, dealership number, and last name cotus.ford.com might work "if" you used an x plan to order.

Having said that if it is retail and you have the above information Deysha may be able to help. The VIN# is usually given a week or 3 before it is scheduled to build normally, except in cases of a QC hold.

All of this applies to LHD mustangs for US consumption but the RHD cars should be similar.

I couldn't understand why, there was 2 of us, she actually typed our names I to the computer, then told us
, only wanted some info, think they are agency staff, not ford employees
I phoned them today to vent my spleen, told there's only one of them on today and she's busy on the phone for the rest of the afternoon!?!? Whoever i spoke to has dropped a diary appointment for her to ring me tomorrow. Bizzare

Cotus doesnt work for any RHD orders - that has been confirmed a few times. Also we dont have x-plan (not even sure what that is to be honest, seen it mentioned a few times on the american forums)

XPlan doesn't exist outside of the USA. In the EU its all retail sales. Hell, its a different financial institution that issues the credit altogether (FCE Bank PLC).

Shareholder discounts (minimum 100 shares for 6 months), employee discounts and friends and family discounts. Every car maker has something similar, but XPlan is specific to Ford North America.

Sorry for the two in a row post. Saw the second post after I submitted.

xplan when normally used is when a company lets say avis buys a fleet of vehicles, it is how they order.

The MCCA mustang car club of america has one and it allows members to get a discounted price because of the volume of sales, as Does working for AVIS Hertz my current emploer and other organizations.
Also it allows us in the USA to also pre-order track etc. and get a damn nice discount based on the deal our particular club or buisness enjoys.

I went to a meeting today, and in the building was the Mustang Priority team,
So went to see one of them, she asked my name, I told her, she then said " I'm not supposed to talk to you.
If you want to know anything, call or email .

LoL.
Walked away in disgust
Sounds like there's something they don't want us to know about. For 'something' read 'cock up'

when do we start forming a collective to go to the press and start publicly shaming FORD UK for their lack of customer service, etc?
I think that time is coming sooner rather than later. I was fed up last night and then I read that delivery has slipped another 9-10 days which in total now means our cars our a month late even though they are built, sitting there collecting dust!!!

It's so frustrating hearing this, it makes me thankful that I haven't even got a build date yet. The thought of it sitting gathering dust would make me so angry! But I expect I'll be in your shoes before long while you're driving round in your Mustang all happy and forgiving and mine will have probably been half a day late to make the last scheduled shipment and be sitting in the docks for another 5 or 6 weeks while ford wait for there to be enough cars to warrant shipping.

really?! how so??
There's dealers taking deposits left and right, and yet no allocation numbers, and no news yet as to whether you'll even be able to BUY the RS in all dealerships or just Ford Stores. So basically there's a bunch of people with deposits down for a car, without knowing that the dealer they've paid the deposit to actually has the right to sell them that car, or, in that case, what that dealer's allocation might be. Absolutely zero replies from Ford, and dealers are saying conflicting things.

Well, for the first time reading this thread I have just smiled!
Sorry, I shouldn't gain comfort from other peoples distress but somehow, I just have.
At least Ford are being consistent with their lack of info and service. Seems they have decided they can treat their 'niche' product customers terribly.

On a unrelated note, I saw the news this morning about a ÂŁ100 million invest in the Nissan factory in Sunderland. At least you have that going for you

Seems that way ..... and you would have thought that customers buying their (to use the jargon) 'halo' products would be worthy of a little more consideration. With a bit more effort surely the whole Mustang/RS thing would have been a massive 'win/win' for Ford - sell more high value cars, attract new customers to the brand, sell more Fiestas/Mondeos etc by association, good 'word of mouth' reputation for customer service etc etc - result! However, given my experience so far I'd be struggling to recommend buying a Ford to anyone and I won't be too keen to go back for another car (which given better service I may have done).

I'm not saying 'we' should be treated better than a Fiesta buyer, but it would be nice to be treated the same as a Fiesta buyer! My mother had better service when she bought her Focus! :frusty:

This is the point. If they treated their Focus customers like they're treating the Mustang ones there'd be a huge upturn in Astra sales.
