To be honest, I'm not surprised anymore. If you look at customer satisfaction surveys, Ford's dealer service is 26th out of 31, and is the 25th worst manufacturer out of 31.

I always take these surveys with a pinch of salt - a bit like trip advisor reviews

It all depends on the people you are dealing with and the high volume sellers with more garages are always going to get a harder time than niche market low volume kit. Plus you always get the I've got to justify my decision supporters of manufacturers that most people give a hard time to.

As stated by others - Ford have actually not failed on anything yet as no one was promised anything until mid- November. The only thing they are guilty of is lack of information. More would have been nice.

If you are thinking of cancelling your order (imo) you never really wanted one that badly in the first place.
Keep the faith it will be worth it in the end:clap2:

Hmmm ..... well, if Mustang heritage is your bag then it looks great - tapping in to that blue-collar, American icon thing. Not really why I'm buying the car but I'd be interested to see the movie to learn a bit more about the history. However Dave Pericak summed it up quite nicely right at the start of the clip ..... "you can't settle for second best" .....

..... which is why I'd rather be getting handed the keys to this ...................................................... instead of this ...

I think you had mentioned before (might have been on CT) about not getting a discount as a Nissan employee on the 370z or GTR, so doubtful that Ford employees get a discount on the Mustang. Also good luck in your new job.

Ooh lordy, that's the first time I've seen that colour combo, good god that's a sexy piece of metal! I read in another post that Ford are buying the Shelby brand & will be building cars all over the world including the UK, or something along those lines. Cheeky upgrade in a few years maybe

From what I understand, Ford employees, friends and family, and something they call 'ambassadors' are entitle to a token discount (compared to what some other manufacturers offer). However, tis discount goes out of the window when you mention 'Mustang'. At least for the Ambassadorial discount that is.

As a Royal Mail employee I get 50 free 1st class stamps at Christmas, not quite as good as a discount on a car.

There's always some truth to surveys.

But no, in all honesty I'd never cancel my order unless they REALLY screwed up! I imagined having a BMW on my driveway and I made this face:

I either get a Mustang or keep my Kia, basically.

Try the configurator on the US website (which is where I got the image of the GT350 from). Hours of fun to be had . It's what our configurator should look like if anyone at Ford could be bothered.

The GT350 is a Ford product, rather than a Shelby product, so if we're to see it in Europe it's up to Ford. Yes, as I understand it Shelby cars will be available in the UK but these are basically standard GT's (supplied by the customer) with upgraded parts added by Shelby. You won't be able to get a GT350 from them.

So, as I mentioned, if we want to see the GT350 on these shores it's up to Ford to stick to their chief designers mantra of 'not accepting second best' and giving us eager folks in the UK some of the good stuff!

Ford are now saying between 12-20 weeks for delivery, apparently they've said that all along. Err no they haven't!

And Deysha just replied to my plea for information, my car still hasn't been released to the upfitters yet!!!! but it "should" be in the next couple of weeks, whilst is still due at the docks on 18th Sept. I can forsee this car not arriving this year.
