Kaps,
I will venture a few thoughts that may help. I don't have my Mustang yet, so I can't speak from experience with this engine. My understanding of the Coyote engine (from web research) is that the PCV Valve is located in the top of the r/hand rocker box (where you attach the hose to your catch can). This means that the entire catch can and hoses are directly connected to your intake manifold. This is significant in that if any of your connections are loose (or not correctly seated), you will draw air directly from atmosphere into your intake manifold. This will have the effect of reducing the vacuum in the intake manifold and giving you a "rough idle". The same problem will be felt if the catch can itself is not entirely sealed (loose cover etc). I would carefully check all of the hose connections and the catch can itself to ensure that they are air tight, then refit it as suggested by others above. Make sure that the two connections into the engine (rocker box end and manifold end) connect and seal.
Hope it works for you.
Thanks for saying that more eloquently than I did . Fully agree that this might be the problem.

Checked the CAN today, the intake hose has oil in it but the out hose was clean. The Valve is working fine too.
After making sure the CAN and Hose are Ok, I put the Can back in today and no issues. Next thing I did is fill the Tank, this time from Shell. The sound of car changed straight away. It's back to normal.
The previous tank I filled from 7-11.
Not going to 7-11 again, if that's the case. It might be just one time issue, but it got me worried.
Thanks everyone who put some good, suggestions for testing the Can and hose connections.

Is it worth paying the almost $400 cost to purchase th Streetfighter product that doesn't need to be emptied?

I am _very_ far from an expert, and I hope someone will chime in and correct or disparage me, but the thing that worries me with the streetfighter is that there can be _water_ in the catch cans - condensation.

So, with one that can be emptied, you take the water out, where the SF would feed it back in.

It's such a small amount of water that it probably doesn't matter, but water in the engine just sounds scary to me :)

I agree with SSB. One of the functions of the Positive Crankcase Ventilation system is to remove air from the crankcase that carries oil mist and moisture. The moisture gets into the air when the oil temperature is held at elevated levels (operating temperature) for a reasonable period. Without an oil separator, this moist air would travel back through the inlet manifold to be combusted and then exhausted. Oil separators will trap both oil mist and moisture. Having isolated this moisture in the oil separator, I wouldn't be too happy about putting it back into the engine.

Have had a lot of experience of this with the BOSS 290 motor. And as the Coyote motor is really not that different, my understanding will be relevant

I can not comment on the Streetfighter product.

However, In 2003 a well known identity brought out his version of the oil separator and breather kit. This kit was stainless steel, think of what the Streetfighter looks like now, but in stainless. This is what I used

This style of oil separator did work, but over time the filter media (read sponge) was easily broken down by the hot oil......now that's a bonus.

As for now.
I am not saying one brand is better than the other, however I have researched all of them and I consider that the UPR model is superior.
It has four stages of trap separation, and the one I purchased mounts on the radiator support allowing the longest hose run to enable as much coalescing as possible.

Am now thinking after all these reviews, the JLT (with only a 30oz can) will need checking every 5,000klms? No big problem though...should only take a minute or two :)

Dont forget with the street fighter unit you are getting two one for each bank. I had a look at them today and spoke with david about them they are beautifully made. I think the water issue ssb makes reference to is pretty subjective to be honest. In any case it has a sponge filter which would catch/trap and moisture and then allow it to evaporate. Ive baulked a bit at their pricing in the past like others but after having a look at the quality off their products the service they are a very good option. I had a look at their exhaust system as well today and compared it to a Ford Racing Borla system and they are chalk and cheese the streetfighter is a far better built and quality product. Seriously considering this stuff now.

Has anyone emptied and checked theirs after say 5,000km?

I installed mine at 7,500km (I know I procrastinated, it's a bad habit) and haven't had a drop in it since. I've been check and checking thinking I'd installed it incorrectly.

Either that or I've got Super Coyote that doesn't blow back oil.....
