The point is thin oil on a dipstick will be harder to see and adhere less(not the right word). Not sure if you are addressing what I said.

Put another way if you use a dipstick to check a water level it would be useless.
I'm pretty sure he's saying the cold will make it thicker and easier to read. I agree with him, the colder it is it will make it thicker and the hotter it is it will be thinner.

What I am saying is the longer you run oil in a car the thinner it is the harder it will be to see on a dipstick.

Oil new will be thick after 10000 miles it will be like water.

Put the dip stick in wrong read the wrong side and you make think you are down when you are not.
