So I finally got some time to pull the motor apart to do my OPG/crankshaft gear install before i do my Procharger that has been on my shelf in garage for 3 months now. Anyhow those that did it how many of you didn't get a crankshaft socket or the ford crank turning tool and what did you use to turn the crank to set the timing chains after install? Thanks

Having the right tools does make the job better and easier, that being said with all the spark plugs out, the engine turns with little resistance, I just used the stock crank bolt with some washers. Here's my thread, it might help or it might make things worse lol.

If there's room in the budget, now would be a great time to upgrade your Harmonic Damper, here's another link.

I like M6G a lot, I use the "SEARCH" tab at the top of the page all the time to find info all the time, it's very helpful.

Wish you well on the oil pump upgrade :ford:

Thanks RB. I have gone through your post many times and a few others who posted about the install but only one person actually said they purchased a turning tool. I know you put your damper back on using the stock bolt/washers method just didn't want to assume you did the same for turning it. Hopefully i will have time after work to get them out. Motor is already apart and i even took off one of the 2 oil pickup tube bolts. I just didn't want to pull the timing components off till i knew what i was going to use to turn it. My plugs are all out already since i have to change them for the blower.
I can't tell other than the picture with your head in it if you pulled out the radiator or not. I only have the fans out and i can't get my head in there as it is lol. Thanks again for your help.
