I just did the first oil change on my Bullitt today. I also noticed a rather 'jumpy' oil pressure gauge. Prior to the oil change it seemed a lot smoother. Afterwards, it hovered 20-30 on light acceleration then it shot up to about 85psig at 4k. found it a bit odd and will continue to watch.
think the 20 quarts of oil had anything to do with it?

Wasn't really getting on it before that. So there's that.
Any RPM above an idle is going to make the oil pressure go higher. Typically about 10 PSI for every 1000 RPM on most engines.

Are you all not understanding how the oil pressure control solenoid works?

Cant speak for everybody else but I'm not there EngineerMike, Please explain.
There is an oil pressure control bypass valve controlled by the pcm. It will toggle oil pressure high to low and vice versa as a function of rpm and load. It does this stock and can be modified in the tune of desired.
