Oil cooler failure - first hand experiences?

My 2016 has now done 110000km. Think I should be safe now from oil cooler failure?

It's such a random and undefined failure - hence total PITA - that unfortunately there's no real way of knowing.

Depends on how much longer you want to keep the car. I will admit, on the track, the replacement oil coolers do keep the engine a degree or two cooler.

I replaced mine last year during its annual service. Had about 45,000kms on the clock at the time. And I had a previous failure!

@hackney i just had a Herrod Oil cooler, great looking piece of kit but i had it removed as it was causing supercharger like whine. i was debating the Harrop unit but i might just stick to the factory unit and save the $1800 for something else. its such a PITA when you're trying to do the right thing and going to the top places to get the work done and it causes more issues.

@SS550 Mustang.Just a side note,I moved my GT on last year, made a profit out of it.Just was not fitting with my life style.Both the wife & I were finding it was giving us backache, as you know they are quite stiff in the suspension.Good luck with yours.
