Hello,

Decided go with the Mishimoto oil cooler for my Aussie Mustang GT.

Part of the process is to fit a block off plate where the factory oil cooler sits.

I'm having trouble tightening the block off plate. As soon as the car starts it leaks oil severely.

I presume you have to use the factory bolts. As the kit did not come with new bolts. The bolts go in nicely and start to get snug but just never tighten.

I've noticed that the Mishimoto plate is slightly thicker (5mm).

I've got a picture of the stock oil cooler for reference.

Do I need slightly longer bolts?

Anyone out there have any experience?

I'm pulling out my hair.

Hi plasmid,

I had no issues attaching the block off plate with the original bolts. You shouldn't need longer bolts.

Take the plate off again, check to see the threaded holes are clean and not stripped. I test fit the bolts on there own to make sure they weren't going to bottom out.

Ensure the rubber O-rings are in place on the manifold as per picture below before refitting the block off plate.

Hope this helps.

Ben M. Thanks so much for your response. Mine does not have the rubber o rings on it! Wow...

I knew something was up.... I don't know how the factory set up was not leaking....
