So I have had my 50th GT for almost a month now, and really my main complaint with the car is the chrome interior trim on sunny days. How are more of yall not getting blinded?!?!?

With that said, I have been looking for other options. Asked my dealership to look and see if there is a basic model stang that has black trim parts. So far no luck there. Took it to two different shops around town (one interior shop with a Mk1 on the showroom floor!) and another tint shop. Both said that to do a vinyl wrap on the parts, would be extremely tricky. They both seemed less interested in doing it stating that they could not guarantee quality in the job.

I don't think I want to plastidip on account that it does not hold up to normal wear and tear.

Yes, I do have tint, and no, it is not suffice to stop blinding me.

The main parts I am concerned about are:
Shifter boot
Cup holder
Door lock release handle
Door pull handle
Steering wheel

If you have done a vinyl wrap, could you post up pics of it? How difficult was it to do? Is there another option I am overlooking?

Yea, the steering wheel trim blinds me if the sun is just right.

Vinyl wrap probably will be your best option. It should be relatively easy for the pieces that are removable. It's also not permanent, should you decide to change your mind about it.

There was a recent post on here where someone vinyl wrapped most of the chrome surfaces:

Move to Scotland. Your biggest problem will then be finding it in the dark... ;)

there was another thread on here where someone used scotchbrite or something and made the pieces more of a dull brushed look vs the factory shiny chrome appearance

I must be in the minority of actually liking the shiny interior bits.....

(Exterior not so much....)
