Slightly off topic question for you rooted android guys. I rooted last week in order to get the hotspot working for this unit, and this morning I got a notification that a new OTA update is available. I know doing the update will either fail or break the root, but if it goes through will it also reset my hotspot files to make them not work again?

If so, what root program is out there to block the OTA updates and not get the notification all the time either?

Uhhhh, there shouldn't be an OTA update for it! Are you sure you don't have a USB plugged in to it with an update.img on it somewhere?

I'll try it this afternoon, I swear I've done it before. Open radio, hit home to minimize it, then open Waze... What NAV program are you using?
Thats exactly how it worked for me, but now that i mapped google maps to the navigation icon, it will open without interrupting anything.

Can you also check if Waze lets you change it's sound settings. Its the speaker icon on the bottom right which has 3 options.
It never works on mine.

I know I've changed it before, I changed the voice used for navigation.

I can do that as well but I can't change these 2 sounds settings: Alerts only and Sound Off.
Tried reinstalling waze already

On the Pixel? Developer Options > Scroll down and toggle the ‘Automatic System updates option.
Had that turned off since I rooted. Still get the notification that won't go away. I can block the notification, but don't know if that's all notifications from the play store, which I still want to see.
