Official Tesla-Style Head Unit

It's been awhile since I've messed with Android but I use to do a lot of tweaking and ROM loading when I was into it. Isn't this unit essentially a tablet? There has to be some sort of USB connection to connect to it. That's how they run a lot of their QC testing. You should be able to do the recovery from a PC if you can get it connected to it. You can send reboot commands and other various things using things like the SDK tools using ADB. Or possible reflash using ODIN, assuming you have the files needed.

First of all, I just realized you and I are FB and IG friends lol...

While it IS somewhat related to a Tablet, it's not. The screen is independent of the rest of the hardware, and there are USB ports, but here's the issues:

1. It requires a Male-A to Male-A USB cable (Which I now have 2 of)
2. My computer does not recognize that anything is even connected when I plug it in. It's not a driver issue either. It literally acts like nothing happened.

I have WAY more software than I could ever need for the unit. I have a theory that one of the unused ports on the back of the unit is for a USB OTG cable to connect for their QC and imaging process, and I'm not enough of an electronics guru to look at it and say, "Oh, these pics go here, so that means this is the one, and here's the pinout we need..."

I need a pocket-Asian or something, but I've gotta find someone I can send the host to, and have them figure all that stuff out, and we'll be lightyears ahead of the game.

Haha! Well I reading while fighting the flu which I still am, so page 20 was an acheivement.
And yeah, that's the shop I have imaged in my head, unfortunately.


And the auto A/C is a huge tip, as that was a major concern.
However, I DO have the performance package.

I have a few weeks I can wait and see if anyone in here wants to cook up another group buy.
If not, I will go ahead and purchase alone.

I know how it can be to try and get a group committed to something, so I won't hold my breath.
But I'm 100% in once I say I am.

I am game and won't back out.
I have researched this for awhile now and the best bet was Raxiom, simply bc American Muscle was quick to send out replacement units when there were issues.
However, there were a number of issues mounting and I work too much to install a new unit every month.
The only reason why I had the time to come across this forum is bc I'm home sick today.
But I feel comfortable with this unit bc of the guys on this forun.
I like how everyone is working together.
Honestly they should be earning commission bc I wouldn't buy it otherwise.

I've earned a total of .0031 cents from all the YouTube views. If it gets 3x the views it currently has, I will have almost enough to buy a pack of smokes! I ended up in the OPPOSITE direction of commission. The first group buy ended up costing me $100 out of pocket for the units to get shipped to me, then another $100 to ship to everyone (even after some guys tossed in a few extra bucks)
The 2nd order ended up being an extra $250 to have him ship to all of the individual addresses, plus I paid for a 2nd unit for R&D.

This is unacceptable.
Everyone can easily make a deposit into your paypal account for the shipment mishap (I'm assuming it was a mishap?)

I'm going to make it fair one way or another to whoever handles the shipment.

It's just like the soft-bricked unit I have, it was my own fault. I didn't take into account the price of shipping to me, or to their doors when I posted the group buy price. I'm not the kinda guy who says, "It's yours for $620" just to come back and say, "But I need $25 more from all of you to cover my own miscalculation."

I'd rather pay out of pocket than have someone feel like they were getting yanked out of more money or a bait & switch.

I understand but it still would've been the right thing to do.
You're not earning commission.

Hole in dash wouldn't bother me rt now w this stock unit.
Tbh, I haven't turned it on since the day of purchase.
I like listening to the motor and bought it strictly for performance, hence the Performance Package on base model.
I can't see the RPM gauge well at all with my hand on steering wheel and am anxious to be able to see it on the screen instead.
This, as well as the navigation and larger screen for camera are the main attraction to this unit for me.

I have a friend that's gone to an interior guy for 25 years and he's agreed to wrap my front and rear seats in genuine leather with vinyl down the sides for 1k even.
I feel like after $1700 of upgrades, it will be nearly as nice as a Premium.
