Official Tesla-Style Head Unit

My Gen1 unit was 40-50 seconds. When it's below freezing out, and I can't see out my window, that's a problem. With my remote start, it wouldn't go to auto-defrost like it does with the factory unit, so I'd start the car 10 mins before I was ready to leave, then get in the car, hit the Start button, then have to hit "Mode" to go to MAX Defrost, and sit there waiting for it to clear the window. It completely defeated the purpose of remote start for me.

I timed mine when I had it. It felt like forever. Either way, since I don't even need NAV, I can't think of a viable reason to install it.

Ok mine takes 38 seconds too boot.

I tried the Torque Bluetooth repeater no luck.
I also tried a blue tooth OBD device with a 1234 pin no luck.

I noticed that external software doesnt even detect blue tooth being active. I suspect the bluetooth implementation is incomplete or its only active on stock bluetooth screen.

I wonder if we could mod the bluetooth back in

That custom ROM I was making last night was to add some menu back in the settings. (Bluetooth included) I haven't finished to recompile it. I've been busy getting my broken bolt out lol.

My defrost worked, but not when I used remote start. With the stock radio, if the temperature is below 50 degrees, it automatically puts it on heat, front and rear defrost when I start it with the fob, then when I get to my car, the windows are clear.
With the Tesla Unit, remote start would just turn the A/C on vents until it booted, or until I hit the "MODE" button.
