Attached is a photo of a 275 tire on a 10" wide rom (see front of car). I don't have much protection for my front rim, which is why on these I want 285s. Rear rim I have some bubble so there's protection.

It's a 20" rim and a different brand/model tire, but you get the point.

Do note, sidewalls always look a little different. Michelin's seem to look wider. Nitto always seems (to me anyway) to look narrower. Cooper seems about even with Continental from what I've seen (not everything...).

Thanks for the pic Wildcat, yeah I was hoping for a little more bubble than that. What model Cooper tire are you running in that pic? I would like to look up the width from sidewall to sidewall and compare it to the Conti's which is 11".

Paul@PKAUTODESIGN, any thoughts on this?

If I run 275/35/20's (Conti Extreme Contact DW) on 20x10's ET42, will the tire look a little stretched and will there be an protection for the rim from the sidewall? Paul you recommended this size for my car since I was bagging it and want to be able to air it out. Are the rear inner fenders designed in such a way that I could run this size on the front and a larger tire on the back (like a 295 or 305) while still airing out? (I don't want to lay in on the rocker panels if that's even possible, but it would be cool to go just above that, lol)

Brotha so a 275 is a fullsize on a 20" so your good there

Rear you are fine, front its a bit wide so you cannot air completely out, in this case a 30" is more beneficial if you want to lay frame down.

So no more than a 275 on the front. What is the widest I could run on the rear and air out? What is a 30"?

How much negative camber do you think I would have to use to do a 285 up front?
A good amount brotha, the main thing is when you air out for it to not catch the inner fender brotha.

Ok... So I keep trying to force myself to like the look of a 275/35 on a 20x10 et40 and cannot do it, lol. If I sacrifice the ability to "air out", am I still going to be able to lower it enough that the top of the rim starts to tuck inside the fender?

Yes, you just wont air all the way to lay frame like some people without risking it.
