Question just out of curiosity; what is up with this weld here? (Between the a-pillar and front apron.) There's a huge ball there but the other side doesn't have this at all. Is this evidence of QA bodywork from the factory? Or just variance in welds in general? Thanks for any answers!

Generally speaking that looks like the result of mass production.

What in the heck is all that other stuff in the pic - can you give us a better pic further out and tell us which direction we're looking "into" it?

There have been threads on here where S550 owners have experienced water leaks at the A-pillars due to incomplete or bad welds. The water will come into the cabin through the A-pillar and stream down the side of the dash assembly to the floor. In some instances the windshield had to be taken out to repair the weld.

That's not a weld but just the sealant... and there's nothing strange into it.

Thanks for the replies everyone! The other stuff mentioned is just twigs and such; they get stuck between the hood and windshield area quite often. I park on the street unfortunately and the tree-free spots are in high demand.
