They probably just want to do a check to see if they can upsell you on things like extended warranties. Maybe not, but that seems likely. Maybe you have enough for the car, but not the out the door price they have planned for you.

Thanks for the replies everyone! The other stuff mentioned is just twigs and such; they get stuck between the hood and windshield area quite often. I park on the street unfortunately and the tree-free spots are in high demand.

Question just out of curiosity; what is up with this weld here? (Between the a-pillar and front apron.) There's a huge ball there but the other side doesn't have this at all. Is this evidence of QA bodywork from the factory? Or just variance in welds in general? Thanks for any answers!

I definitely feel the steering is more difficult to the right, around where the groan is. I recently replaced a bunch of suspension components and it helped maybe ever so slightly. How tight the steering is seems to depend on how the car sits when parked. My plan is to check out the steering...
