Really? I was told the stock Pirellis are quite soft. I would think the G2's or any performance tire are firmer than what's on the car now. Also the ones on now don't grip well either. They spin fairly easily.

The consensus seems to be the stock Pirellis aren't very good. That's why people upgrade to Michelin, Continental, Nitto etc.
It's not so much a matter of the P-Zero being a not-so-good tire as it is that the Michelins and the Contis are better yet and the Nittos are less expensive and featured by mass-market vendors like AM.

FWIW, I put more weight to Tire Rack's own testing than I do to most individual reviews because such variables as driver skill level and actual pavement and weather conditions are more closely controlled. But perhaps a tire that's either exceptionally good or unusually poor at straight line acceleration doesn't see this reflected in TR's testing very well (TR's "Braking Modulation" charts in their tire comparison tests might be good for a hint here, but only a hint).

Don't get me wrong, the stock Pirelli's are pretty bad too, but the G2 is honestly only an upgrade in wet weather in my eyes.

High speed cornering you can tell right away the G2 has the softer sidewall of the 2. I think its fine however to daily drive on, and better than other tires for that specific purpose.

I really like my G2's seem to corner much better than the Falkens I had on previously

I think tire pressure makes a big difference on the g2 tire. I think they aren't as firm as the Pirelli summer tires I had. Running them at 36 pounds they feel quite different than at 32. At 32 they rode nice and gripped great but seemed kind of loose feeling. Not a big surprise. What pressure is everyone running on the G2's.
