Who else is running no mufflers?

I'm running factory cats, res delete, H-Pipe, no mufflers, and I couldn't be happier with the exhaust note. Ridiculously loud when I want it to be while being surprisingly livable at cruising speeds, but a great tone regardless of how fast I'm going through the RPM's or what RPM I'm at.

I've got cats, stock resonator and muffler delete and love it. Most people don't believe me when I say how happy I am with it.

Soon going to try it with deleted cats, hopefully I'll like it just as much without cats but if not I got a couple of ideas to try and create an exhaust tone I'd be happy with.

I've got an x pipe and a muffler delete. It is so loud. Cold starts are absoltley ridiculous. But I mean it when I say it sounds like a nascar/racecar outside the car. Its that frequency that will fill the entire atmoshphere with noise. It is so loud when you stomp on it. I know no one is going to buy this since its frowned upon to not buy a $1500 exhaust. but it sounds really good/ not just loud noise. Its actually musical. there are so many different tones and sounds. Love the back fires when shifting from 1-2.

I have my cats and resonator but deleted my muffler also, I am totally happy with the sound. Was going to do it temporarily but like it just the way it is. Only drone I get is if I'm in sixth around 58-64 mph, so I just stay in 5th at those speeds which is still only about 2.6-2.8 RPM.

Just bought my '16 GT used. Previous owner decided on muffler deletes, stock res and cats. Sound and volume are quite nice but at highway speeds the drone is unbearable. Made it an entire week before buying a Stainless Works catback. Will being going on the second I stop working 100+ hour weeks.

Stock cats and resonator, but no mufflers here. Absolutely love it.

The need for an overpriced "system" is, to me, a bit of a fad. A little cutting and welding at a local muffler shop made plenty of cars sound great in the past, and that's still the case today. Tips included, I was $200 OTD for a sound I really couldn't be more pleased with.

It's not so much a "fad" as everyone has different tastes in sound. Cheapest isn't always best.

I dont really like the no muffler sound without the resonator. Sound good at idle but tinny trumpety with load.

I never said cheaper is best. I don't think a great number of the exhaust systems out there are worth anywhere near what they cost, is all. Also, I was speaking more to the attitude that unless you get a "system" that you're doing it wrong... I asked a local speed shop and got a full paragraph of snark about how it was beneath them and such a bad idea to cut up the stock exhaust.

The resonator or an H-pipe are my preference. The X is a little too much racecar rasp for my personal taste.

Well I agree some are ridiculous but $500 for axlebacks like the Roush and others are not unreasonable. AWE and MBRP catbacks are $700-800. Reasonable.

My Roush with MRT H pipe was all of a $750 setup. I wasnt spending $1200-1300 for a catback.

There is more than just like materials like marketing and a LOT of R&D; especially the priceier systems like Borla and Corsa. That's why they have no drone; dozens and dozens of hours of testing and engineering put in.

I agree with cold starts. My Mustang is outrageously loud until it warms up and settles to a level that is one hair under "pull me over" loud. Full throttle, it's race car loud, but with a very good tone.

Maybe there are others like me but I actually like a little drone as well as pops and burbles in the exhaust note. I do agree on some vehicles, such as GM LSx powered vehicles, a non muffler setup sounds rough and obnoxious, like a rusted old pickup truck.

The Coyote naturally has a very smooth sounding exhaust note. I find a no muffler setup gives the exhaust note a little roughness so the Mustang sounds more aggressive and muscle car like. I find alot of 5.0L powered Mustangs with the various aftermarket exhaust systems sound too smooth but then again, everyone has different taste.
