I got the package in from Sly Brackets and they included four 1-inch spacers (just in case 2 wasn't enough) plus they included their leveler kit (normally $13 extra) which allows you to adjust the angle of the plate in in case the grill has an angle to it. I appreciated that since the plate would have had a forward angle to it without it. Anyway, I'm plated up and won't need to worry about the local constabulary taking any more interest in me than is necessary.

Please let us know if there is a lot of vibration on that setup. Also if you notice and stress on the grill where it attaches. Looks like a nice clean install now with the extra spacers. Hopefully it's not wobbly.

The kit includes plenty of lock washers and I used them on every screw. It feels very tight and rigid. My only concern, as you stated, is the stress on the grill. I'm going to keep an eye on it for a while. If I ever decide to track my car again, I plan to just remove the plate as it's an open frame and should take away any stress on the mount and grill (plus it'll allow better airflow to the lower grill).

That's a good point. Use it when you need it, remove for high speeds. :)

I’m using Craig’s mount. Been on since August of last year with no issue. No drilling required.

Bob, I noticed the Craig's mount website asks what exact model mustang the buyer has. It even specifies California Special. Look at the difference under the bumper area of a GT350 and a GT. Do you have a pic of the underside area of your CS for reference? There is plenty of meat under the 350s nose to adhere the bracket. But there's barely an inch on a GT. I have to order 3 brackets for different cars. How the hell does that 3M tape grab such a small spot on a regular GT, and what's the CS version look like?

Wow. Thank you. So that bracket is the GT/CS version from Craig's? It's very long and narrow. Makes sense as there isn't much depth there to adhere to. You wrote that's is lasted a while. I'm going this route because the Sto n Go seems have clearance issues occasionally. Appreciate the effort. 👍🇺🇸

I'm in this boat now too. FL didn't require front plate. In NJ now it's mandatory jail time if you don't have the front... and they're on it like hawks. Sounds like the Sto n Go it is.
Its not jail time in Nj for no front plate. Dont have front plates on 6 of our 7 cars in NJ for 14 years and never an issue.

Agreed. Never had an issue when I was in NJ. But the Craig’s bracket is cheap insurance if you do get questioned. Oh sorry officer, I forgot to screw it back on!

I was being facetious. I've been stopped but not ticketed in the past. Bergen County is rough. South Jersey is like the wild west.

just ran into an issue with my plate holder. seems the hot weather is affecting the glue on the base. The plate was sitting at an angle and looked like somebody pulled it down. The glue is actually pulling away from where it mounts to body. I took off plate and will see if the base sets overnight. If that doesn't work I may contact vendor. We've had some high 80s and 90s last few days. This has been on since last August without issue until today.

Yes. I guess the heat melts the double sided adhesive after a while. Thanks for the heads up.
