Niche Line engine build plate removal

Just trying to be productive while waiting for VMP to get going on an initial tune for me so today I tried removing the plate and transferring it to the VMP lid I intend to use.

Didn't use a heat gun. Tried dental floss and quickly realized I was wasting my time. Then I tried a zip tie and it worked perfectly.

To remove the adhesive on the back of the plate I started with Goof Off and finished with some Xylene.

To attach the plate to the VMP lid I used some Permatex Ultra Black, spread out on each and waited a couple minutes, then pressed the plate in place and it worked perfectly.

The goal is to keep a near OEM appearance and so far things are working out rather nicely.

You should have called, I have a bunch of blank ones lying around. Im sure a 3d scan and print would produce a replica stamp for the signature.

This. Fishing line is what I used to remove the Chevrolet badges on my SS Sedan trunklid so I could fit the proper Holden kit. Works great and won’t scratch painted surfaces.
