Current mods in sig; I'm chasing the 700rwhp number so many are claiming to make.

I think my next mods will be the oil pump gears and timing chain gears?

Past that, what else can I do to squeeze more out of the Roush SC? Sorry if I sound retarded, just trying to understand how I keep reading about people putting down 700+rwhp and what piece of that puzzle I need to purchase to get there reliably.

Now by fuel system; what do you mean by that? Dual pumps? I have BAP and ID1000's; what else is needed?

Are all these whipple/kenne bell guys modifying their fuel systems?

Did you dyno your car with the 79mm pulley installed (since your sig says 622rwhp with an 82mm pulley)? It seems you should be close with the extra boost.

There is no magic:

More air flow (headers, x pipe, high flow cats, smaller pulley's, larger TB's, engine mods)
More fuel (higher flow injectors, higher rate pump... but you have these)
Better fuel (e85, race gas)
Software tuning to account for the above

VMP is essentially the same blower so that should give you a good target on what to expect with mods (they show ~840RWHP graph on their site with a much smaller pulley and other mods on a Boss engine).

Good call! Updating sig now; that 622 is with the 79mm pulley.

I am putting an H Pipe on the car this weekend; from the sound clips I heard, I like the sound of the H Pipe better than X, and from what I've been reading shouldn't be much performance difference either way?

I'm debating doing the headers, but people have said in another post I had that there probably wouldn't be big gains from headers?

Big gains are relative, you are only looking for about 70RWHP so headers/h-pipe would help. With a s/c you might see something like 30-50RWHP with removing the exhaust restrictions from what I've read (no experience as this is my first Mustang). I gained about 20RWHP/TQ on my ZR1 from long tube headers with bullet cats with a similar type engine (quad cam/4 valve per cylinder). The engine is a built N.A engine so it could benefit from the extra airflow. However, as I mentioned in that thread -- it's far cheaper to get a smaller pulley if you have the supporting mods (oil gears). I would also get a larger throttle body were I looking for better flow (as a source of restriction).

So is the obsession with 700RWHP just a quest to have the same power as brand Z (on a different dyno / locale)? I'm not sure you'll feel the difference until you have traction. You also should take it to the track. Sometimes one person's track ponies are bigger than someone elses dyno ponies. :)

Lund doesn't think I should go lower than 79mm; but maybe I'll ask him if I do the oil gears if that would enable me to go with smaller pulley.

The obsession with 700rwhp is hearing so many guys out there making those #'s; I want to run with the pack so to speak haha. I'd LOVE to hit a 10.5 1/4 mile, and be able to do so reliably on a daily driver. I like that roller coaster feel when I hit the gas, but this car is so refined, I don't really get that roller coaster feel. I'm hoping to get it fast enough that it scares me a lil.

I plan on going to the track real soon; waiting on my new driveshaft/half shafts to arrive; car is up on jack stands waiting for them at the moment.

Just turn advance trac off every time you get in the car.

a block can always do that

our stage 1 e85 fuel system will give you much better fueling to allow for more timing without additional boost.

and still keep it very safe

I would *have to* run E85 right? meaning I can't upgrade fuel system and run 93 past where I'm at?

My only hesitation on E85 is the availability out here. Trying not to make a stupid decision.

On top of fuel system I should do the oil pump gears as well right? Making myself a Christmas list.

I want to try to get to 750/800rwhp. Might take me a couple years, might be next month all depends on what is needed/cost.

Thanks again Terry and all for sharing your wisdom.
