What is everyone using to record their lap times?
I know Aim Solo is very good but I'm wondering if there is a cheaper option while I'm just starting out. I downloaded RaceChrono phone app. I've heard good things about it.

I'm not trying to set any lap records, I only want to know how my times are improving and progressing.

For general lap recording with telemetry and multi- camera video:
  • RaceChrono Pro
  • bluetooth ODB module
  • GoPro (optional)
  • External mic (optional)
  • Garmin GLO2 (optional)
You may not need the Garmin if your phone's GPS is accurate enough, but for me, it was missing the start/finish line half the time. The external module fixed it.

If it's just times you're after, check if the track can fit you with a timing box. That should be accurate to .001 sec.

TrackAddict works well and is easy to use. Racechrono is easy and good as well.
