I'm assuming it's for the engine compartment breathing / fresh air exit from the air ducts on the side of the car.

Those vents are most likely fully functional. Mid engine is a complete pain from a heat perspective.

This car looks like a complete money hole for GM. Creating a one off platform from scratch to win a race. Not a very wise business decision to me if winning also intels turning a profit.

My thoughts exactly ... the sad part is, the faux vents have become an industry standard ... they are everywhere.

Anyone else kind of love that the top engine in GM's stable is a copy of what Ford has been offering for many years?

Is the top dog C8 going to have too high of a center of gravity due to the overhead cam V8? :giggle:

After reading this I think Corvettes future is bleak with prices starting in the 70k range and going as high as 150k they ought to sell as well as the 5gen camaro z28.

    https://www.chevyking.com/2020-chevrolet-corvette-philadelphia

For the initial release of the 2020 Mid-Engine C8 we expect MSRP prices to start in the low 70's, but quickly option up to the high 80's, with the most aggressive track models to be in the current ZR1 price range of $130,000 to $150,000 .

Hopefully they offer something that can at least handle lapping at the track for a somewhat reasonable price. Kind of like the current Z51 package that ads about $5k and doesn't get you more power, but gets you the other things you will want for the road course. I'd really love to try out a mid engine vehicle and with a V8 - yeah that ticks most of the car guy boxes. The only way I would completely lose interest in the car is if they never put a manual transmission into it.
