I second Lord Thunder's comment about ruby red hiding dirt pretty well.

And the color does look classy in my opinion. See the pic of mine below.

But honestly, I think all the colors are great. And b/c of that, it's kind of tough to choose one. I narrowed it down to guard and ruby red, and went with the ruby red. No regrets.

Good luck choosing your color and have fun when you get the new beast. These cars are a blast to drive.
Damn thats a great looking car...

OP the Adaptive cruise control and BLIS are terrific. I had never used them before and had a problem paying for them initially. Now I wouldn't buy the car without them.

Hi,
I'm Alex, been a car guy ever since I started driving, but always been into japanese cars. I've owned a few 240SXs, Sentra, Supra, and most recently an FR-S. I always used to say I only liked older cars, but when I met my future wife I realized I should get a car with airbags, ABS, etc. for safety. I really liked the FR-S and bought it when they first came out. However, it was just totaled in a bad wreck on the interstate. We are fine, but the car is not. So, now I am shopping around for a new car, and the number one on my list is a new Mustang. I didn't even consider them until the most recent update, with independent rear suspension. I have been dreaming about a V8 swap into my 240SX but since I am in the new car market now I figure I will just get a new car with a V8. I test drove the GT and Camaro SS, and while that LS3 had monster fun torque, the Mustang drove way better... responsive steering, great shifter, quieter ride.
So, with that said, I'm thinking the GT, manual, performance package, and since we just had a bad wreck, adaptive cruise (for the forward collision warning that probably could've prevented our wreck), and 401A for the BLIS and dual temperature control. The biggest thing I'm not sure about is color... I've always loved red cars, but the new Stang's red seems a little too orange, and I don't know about the ebony black PP wheels with it. I am surprised to say it, but I really like Guard green (my inner Steve McQueen?), or maybe just black so it's "murdered out" from the factory. Looking at pics, I see the option for "Luster Nickel" is that just plain silver? I've spent way too much time already going through all the color threads in the picture forum. The dealer here won't give me a quote until I come back in, but I've already got a few quotes from neighboring dealers and am hoping I can get it for under $40k with dealer fees. My plan is to bid them off each other. Anyone with my exact options have any info on how much they paid? No one has the exact car I've asked for but said they could order it, but I can probably get a better deal if I didn't have to...
Go black murdered out like me :)

Alex,
Not just a little biased here, but Guard when nicely clean and waxed looks like Bullitt resurrected, only better. And as a bonus, you won't see many "twins" on the road.
Have fun choosing!

They don't call it race red for nothing. The police notice me quite well.

Choose whatever color you want. The bliss works wonderfully.

I have always had Japanese and European cars in the past. This is the first Mustang that has really felt the same in quality and feel to those cars, you are really going to love it.

Black cars are gorgeous, but require a lot of care to keep looking nice over the long haul. If you keep cars a long time I would consider that. If you trade often then go crazy!

Wow, thanks for all the replies. The Mustang crowd really is a brotherhood. I've ordered the car in Guard metallic, manual, 401A, performance package, with adaptive cruise! I did get it under 40k by competing bids between the dealers, but after taxes and etc. it will bring it back up just over 40k. They did say that if more/better incentives come up before it arrives they'll give me those. I don't know how I am going to deal with the anticipation! I've already read every page on Ford's website and watched a zillion videos on it!

Enjoy the wait. Anticipation is part of the fun. But I did find that beer made the wait more tolerable. Cheers!

Nice color. Guard was my 2nd choice but can't go with black.

Hadn't talked to my salesperson in a while, but I just did, and the car is supposed to be here Friday!! Got my window sticker and VIN too. I've read the entire owner's manual online and want to break this baby in before the weekend is over! Be gentle on the tires for the first 300 miles, OK that makes sense, but what the heck is "Do not drive too fast" for 1000 miles? What's too fast? My FR-S just said not to rev it above a certain RPM for the first 1000 miles... but really Ford, what is "too fast?!" Most people agree that an early oil change is good, maybe I'll do that. I've heard of break in procedures describing anything from babying the engine to giving it hell. I wonder if I'll think it's too quiet like everyone else does? Maybe I'll have to put an electric exhaust cut out on it so I can be loud sometimes...
