Hi guys,
i melted the dust boots from the rear brake piston on the racetrack. Does anyone know where i can buy only the boots? Ford Germany only sells the complete caliper, which is a little too much for only replacing the boots.

Thanks for your help

Hi there,

it points me in the right direction. i am not sure if the "normal" repair kit works also for the Mach1 brakes.
I found a few different kits on rockauto. So i think i buy a few of them i give it a try.

Cheers

If you do please let us know. I was pointed to a site but could not find any high temperature seals. I had to replace the entire calipers. If yours work out it would be good to know.

The new boots will melt as fast than the old ones
Leave them out. Not really needed
Race calipers don’t have them nor do motorcycles
Just clean around the pistons next time before pushing them back for new pads

I like the sound of that. I have replaced both calipers already and someone suggested to switch off traction control completely even in track mode and it should help with the heat. But I'll just take this advice and save myself a few hundred $ next time they melt.

Yes, that would help but I also cooked the boots on my front Brembo
So I’m now boots less and do as I always have done on my motorcycles and race cars: clean the pistons with a toothbrush before retracting them to change pads
