I've heard there is no 5.0 option on the raptor.

The first half year they were powered with a 5.4L and after that they did indeed offer a 6.2L engine.Plus, didn't the previous Raptor come with a 6.2L?
I would imagine that is a safe guess, which also means the Raptor will look massive compare with the regular F-150 which I think is how it should be. That wider stance really adds to the look of the Raptor. My guess is probably about the same. The old raptor was shrunk from the original design because it was the only way they could fit it on the F150 assembly line (part of why the truck is relatively affordable given what they put on it).
If you look at the Ford press release, it does state it's something like 6" wider than the regular F150 - which is slimmer than the 14 F150. Putting those two pieces of information together, my guess they did the same and made it as big as the assembly line could handle.
That 5.4 was horrible. The 6.2 is a great motor and with the option of getting them supercharged by either Roush or Shelby replacing them with a v6 is going to be tough. The first half year they were powered with a 5.4L and after that they did indeed offer a 6.2L engine.
Does anyone know if the dimensions remain the same compared to the current Raptor? It's doesn't seem as broad but maybe that's just on pictures.
I think the government has a whole is the USA is going to have us moving away from v8's. Of course displacement no longer defines power.I suspect Ford is going to wean us off of V8s. I fear for the future of the Mustang.
Never had the chance to drive a 5.4L powered Raptor - so I can't compare but when I had to decide which one I should go for I've read that the smaller engine just lacks power (compared to size & weight), hence I opted for the 6.2L.That 5.4 was horrible. The exhaust routing, and tips are likely so the exhaust vent tubing can be put on the truck properly so they can run it indoors.Actually its good idea. Lots of first gen raptors have smashed rear exhaust while offroading. This should help with that, but the cutouts could be better.
