New Navigation map update June 29th

Thanks! Just registered today and see the Sync 3 update. I thought they might have done concurrent when they sent out Sync 3 map update, but they didn't.

SYNC3 updates come directly from Ford. Maps come through a 3rd party. Totally separate. Good luck.

Contact your credit card company and put in a dispute. That’s what I did with the 1.18 update. Ford cancelled the charge and let me keep the USB stick.

Thanks for the suggestion but nope even though I had already thought about that approach. I took the risk of simply ordering the USB without first calling the support number and was fully aware of the no refund policy. I should have trusted myself since this turned into an example of an old joke:

I made a mistake once. I thought I was wrong when I wasn't.

Update..(Pun intended) I had 3.3 19052 with 1.18 map before the update. Still can't tell as it shows 1.17 but after it rebooted twice it said installation complete and now my navigation voice commands don't work so I guess it updated. This is the details screen..

Same here ... still shows nav maps version 1.17.

There are people reporting that older version had information in their areas right but the update doesn't.

So other than the downloading problems and possible loss of voice commands, what other problems are there?

This thread is so long its hard to keep track. Also, never got notified that a Sync 3 update was available for Edge. Dealer evidently didn't put us in system.

In my humble opinion.

It has been noted, several times, that if you have Sync 3.3, the Gracenotes and NAV map versions, noted in the About page, will NOT be updated and the Version noted is incorrect (the same version as before) and has not been changed. The maps HAVE been updated.

This Error in the Version of map, as noted in the About page, WILL be fixed in Sync 3.4.

So they say. Continue your struggle as you see fit.

I noticed this morning that the Ford nav site is “down for maintenance”. What are the chances they will have links to files that will actually load properly and work?

I just saw that too, I doubt they can fix the Vers. error, maybe they can.

What would happen if one loads the file update for nav 118 back to the car? wouldn't this rewrite the current 119 files restoring 118 and in theory, restoring voice command?

Well, I save a copy just in case. I also have the Sync3 3.2 to 3.3 update files. But since all the files have the license certificate embedded, cant share with another.. or is there a way?!

Not likely. Certainly wouldn’t be willing to try. Best chance would be to contact Ford and see if they’ll sell you a 1.18 USB for your VIN & ESN. That said why bother?
