After reviewing my track day clips, I realized one major thing lacking was the sound that this car puts out. I did a little research and settled upon the following for use with my GOPRO Hero4 Black. Yesterday, I installed them and went for a quick spin.

Olympus ME 51S microphone

GoPro 3.5mm Mic Adapter

Cat Ears microphone windscreen

iMBAPrice iMBA-PS-12MF 12-Feet Gold Plated 3.5mm Male to 3.5mm Female Extension Stereo Audio Cable

GOPRO skeleton case (so that you can plug the mic connector in)

Very straightforward..... plug the mic adapter in, plug the extension cable into the adapter, run the wire through the car and into the trunk, open trunk and attach microphone, clip to license plate bracket. Done.

And now the sound.....

Keep in mind that this is just a sample of the characteristics of the mic setup.

GOPRO has an app that works on your cell phone that turns it into a remote control for your GOPRO. It is called "Connect" It works great.

One of the other modifications I plan to make is to add a "bacpac" battery. This morning I ordered the battery and the larger rear skeleton door to help in battery life. Another bonus using the bacpac battery is that this will add the ability to connect the camera to a power source, since the camera's port is now in use by the mic adapter.

Another thing that I am currently dabbling in is making the code file from my OBDLINK MX work with dashware for in video telemetry. Unfortunately, so far, I am unable to make dashware and the OBDLINK file work together.

More to come.

use Harry's Laptimer for the ODBLINK or use the data logging from something like nGauge and save it as a .csv file.

I'll soon enough know what you are talking about. The wife and I are going up to Grand Rapids this Thursday. Warm and sunny just isn't good enough for her.

Been looking for the official GoPro microphone adapter but seems to be sold out everywhere... Do you know where to purchase one or did you buy a cheaper alternative?

B&H photo and video in NY is where I got mine. It was around $20 (don't recall the exact amount. Shipping was low as well.

The reason I got the official gopro adapter is because I read that the knock offs will not give clear sound.

However, if Helmet in the post above can vouch for his and it's less money, you may want to give that a try. I went with the Oem part only because of all the warnings I read. I am very happy with it so far.

Edited to add: Below is the link.
