Good afternoon! So I just recently purchased my first home.... which means one thing.... the Mustang finally has a garage spot! :ford: in the meantime... the existing floor looks... well i'll be honest... like crap. (Im a perfectionist lol) Its the original cement and there is plenty of oil stains etc. I was looking into refinishing the floor with some sort of garage epoxy. I want this garage to look SPOTLESS for my stang. Anyone else done this in their garage? I figured this would be a good place to post with all the gearheads here...

The only epoxy that's worth a damn is the real deal which would cost me $8000 to do my 1200 square foot garage. That's a 30' X 40' area and the price was from one of my customers and that was ''installed'' price

Looking to fix my garage similar to this one. What are the overall dimensions? How deep is your bay that is against wall? And how far is lift from the side wall and back wall? Sorry for all the questions but I have a three bay and I want to put a lift in the 3rd bay but I am concerned about working against the wall. I appreciate any feedback.

The Racedeck looks great. I have a new 36X32 built just need to outfit it like this one. It's nice! Thanks for any feedback.

Another option besides professional epoxy or race deck would be VCT tiles. I had a 20x30 garage that I put black and white VCT tiles down in checker pattern. The cool part of VCT tile is once you glue them down you can drive on it. No cure time. It was easy to keep clean with a large floor squeegee. I use to wash my black car in the garage then dry it off and just squeegeed the water outside. That also kept the floor clean. About once a year I would have a floor guy come over and strip and seal the floor (he cleaned our carpets too). The only negatives I found was the feet of jack stands would dig into the tile and if you treated your tires on this VCT it got really slick. VCT is vinyl composite tile and its the commercial glue down stuff used in walmart etc. The color goes all the way thru so scratches really don't hurt it. This is an easy DIY and you can go at your own pace tile by tile. Lowes and HD have them in stock most of the time. When we sold the house the garage is what sold the house. The new buyer really liked the garage and the floor. One more thought....if you decide to go this route consider doing 2x2 grids instead of 1x1 grids as it makes the garage look bigger. Sure do miss that garage!!

garage is 800 sq ft. lift is 1.5ft from wall. Garage is 33ft D. and 25ft W. with a 10ft H. 18ft door is the biggest you can get. My play ground..:ford:

I got mine done right after I bought the house. I hired a concrete specialist - I think the biggest difference between them and do-it-yourself is that they spent most of the time smoothing the concrete prior to applying the coating. Big vibrating sander/polishers that covered the whole area with concrete dust. Cost about $5000 for 1600 sqft. It's held up great 10 years later. Oil, gas, tranny fluid spills, just wipe right up. Downside is it's a bit slippery when wet. And ramps don't work because they just slide. All in all, very glad I did it.

I went with the epoxy also and had it professionally installed, used Sherwin William commercial grade epoxy, goes on much thicker than the box store stuff. Recommend using heavy media chips and you can add anti-slip if you use it a lot wet. They look great and hold up for years if done right, you can select from a multitude of colors and chips to get just the look you want.
